Just spent three lovely nights at the Galop House Bed and Breakfast in Iroquois Ontario. The rooms are spacious and spectacularly clean. We stayed in the red room with the St. Lawrence view and could not have been happier.
We not only had our room, but a lovely great room, a cosy conservatory (where breakfast was served) and an amazing back garden right on the St. Lawrence Seaway.
The garden is noteworthy due to the amazing animal life. Birds, frogs, chipmunks and insects abound. I loved it! There is nothing nicer than the sound of frogs in the evening or the sight of fireflys at dusk!
Our hosts were accomodating with a wealth of information regarding local sights, restaurants and directions. They have a very interesting arrangement with a local couple who provide an excellent multi course meal in their 150 year old home, which I heartily recommend! It too was a once in a lifetime experience.
The breakfast was provided at the time of our choosing, and was abundant - so much variety that we had to ask them for less on day two and three as we just couldn't do justice to the homemade muffins etc.
The only downside from my viewpoint was that I could not get onto the internet - but was graciously offered the use of our hosts system; and no TV. The no TV can be viewed as either a blessing or a difficulty depending on the traveller.
