Visited the Tudor a few times while staying at the Tudor Arms caravan park which is adjacent. Very good food, especially the sunday roast, which was excellent. Staff and service was very good and pub was clean and tidy. The Tudor offered a fine selection of real ales and some very fine ciders. Great location next to the Sharpness and Gloucester canal with it's swing bridge which leads to the Slimbridge wildfoul center. A great location for a beer and/or meal with two outside areas to sit out in on a fine day.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and registration was a little slow as the bar staff were so busy. However the staff were polite and friendly and room was more than adequate, good size, well furnished and very clean. Our room faced the car park only a couple of metres from the window and I was woken by someone arriving late and slamming car doors, with all the accompanying lights flashing as they locked it (twice!). So maybe worth checking rooms on the other side of the corridor. Breakfast is difficult for me, but the staff were again very helpful and came up with novel alternatives - thank you. Easy walk to Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands along a road lined with daffodils.

We always stop here for lunch when visting Slimbridge and have never been disappointed. I normally don't order roasts at pubs as they usually never live up to a home roast but on this occasion the Saltmarsh Lamb caught my eye so I thought I'd give it a go. It was superb, best roast I've had in any pub. the lamb was full of flavour and the veg was cooked to perfection, no over-cooked mush here! Also top marks for offering a children's roast (not all under 12s want to eat chicken nuggets or fishfingers), and it wasn't much smaller than the adults. Add in a good selection of well-kept real ale and friendly service and you can see why we will definitely keep coming back.

I have stayed at the Tudor Arms a number of times over the past few years and find the rooms very comfortable and quiet. The location is great right next to the canal for evening walks. the food is good pub grub, good portions, good service etc. Be aware though that they do take bookings for people with dogs and I stayed recently when one room had 2 terriers barking until all hours at night plus early in the morning.

The kind and friendly folks at Tudor Arms will immediately make you feel at home in a very comfortable, recently renovated inn - new bedding, fixtures, baths make it a very nice place to stay at very reasonable prices. The Inn is a multi-repeat winner of the CAMRA country pub of the year, so if you value a good selection of cask ales, this is your place. Low key locals make everyone feel at home... the canal boat captains turn up in good numbers as the canal is adjacent the pub, along with a caravan park. VERY quiet in the evening, a nice change from the noisy inns elsewhere which are notorious for keeping you up til late in the evening 7 days a week.... a bit tricky to find, but worth the short drive through Slimbridge and farms .... enjoy!

We stayed at this pub as we were visiting the WWT at Slimbridge. The accommodation was absolutely superb. For instance the bathroom fittings were Villeroy and Boch, which are top of the range by anybody's standard. We had a well positioned flat screen tele. The bed linen was clearly very expensive and comfortable. In the the room there was an armchair and 2-seat sofa. There was a huge amount of hanging space and a large chest of drawers. There was tea and coffee making facilities plus biscuits. This room was as good as any decent city hotel. There was a a lot attention to modern health and safety with obvious fire doors fitted strategically. I defy anyone to fault the quality of the accommodation. The staff were extremely customer orientated. The food was not gourmet and not did not set out to be. It provided us with just wholesome reasonably priced pub food. The pub was buzzing with people and it clearly had a good client base. I was impressed by the cleanliness of toilets in the main pub. There ware half a dozen different areas in which to eat. We enjoyed hearty English breakfasts in the conservatory. The prices for staying there were vere very reasobale. We paid £150.00 fore 2 nights bed and breakfast. The location of the hotel on Sharpness - Gloucester canal was quite idyllic. This is a fantastic traditional, no nonsense pub and a credit to the owners and well justified of its honour given to it by CAMRA as the best pub in the county 2009

We stayed at the Tudor Arms 5 years ago and went back recently to visit Slimbridge Wetland Trust. The rooms have all been refurbished to an excellent quality with everything you could need. We actually had the same room No 2, so it was lovely to see the transformation.
The food as others have reported, is still very good indeed. Hot, well prepared and very tasty. All the staff are very polite and cheerful, especially the bar Staff.
We will definately use the Tudor Arms on our next visit to Slimbridge, which we hope won't be too long.
If you want to stay at an "Excellent" B & B for an exceptional price, then you won't go wrong by choosing the Tudor Arms.
