I have lived and worked in Comino during the years of 1981 to 1986, when the hotel was owned and managed by a Swiss company. In those days the hotel was one of the best in Malta. We had the best Mediterranean Windsurf Centre, Tennis Centre, Diving centre etc. Having booked there as a guest so many years later, it is sad to see how all activities have been completely neglected. No more Windsurfing and no more Tennis. The diving activity is still there. However, the prices have not increased since that time also, so the value is great. I love the arrival by the hotel boat, the room and bed was comfortable, balcony was furnished and had stunning views. I went daily in the morning before all the tourist crowds to the Blue Lagoon that is a 10 min. walk and swam in the most beautiful turquoise blue waters of the mediterranean sea. Walking across the Island that is full of wild thymian, that i picked and use for cooking at home was a real pleasure. Cleaner then there the air you breath is hard to find. The food was good and generous. Was happy to find the same chef who worked with me 36 years ago and some of the same friendly and wonderful employees still there. Whatever the negatives, the positives are there and for the value, yes i could say i go back again.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms have better views. Who likes Sunrise should take rooms in the front and who likes sunset rooms on the back.

The hotel is on an island and you need to get the boat from Cirkewa to get there. The boat costs 10 euros, but the hotel has it own boat. The connection works well and takes approx. 20 min (on bad weather 35 min).

The hotel's lobby is nice and the staff is friendly. Except the bar staff, who don't know the drink menu. There was difficulties when ordering. No good cocktails.

We had the room at the bungalows. The bungalows are 20 min by foot from the hotel or 5 min by minibus. However the road is in a very bad condition what makes the drive bumpy and unpleasant. The room was nice and had lots of space. The bed was comfortable. However, the towels were in bad condition and could be change to new ones.

The breakfast was served at the bungalows and the dinner at the hotel. The breakfast was fine, but dinner average, not very tasty. My boyfriend got stomach ache every evening from the dinner. If you don't have the lunch included, there is a menu available (pizza, pasta, burgers etc.)

The surroundings of the hotel are old and in bad condition.

The pools are fine.

The best and pretty much only activity on the island is Blue Lagoon, which is 10 min by foot from the hotel. But you may get there also by boat from Malta and Gozo.

The hotel doesn't provide any activities beside the pools. The tennis yards are crappy.

Stayed one night and Liked very much. They have their own boat from Gozo and Malta. The prices were €37 per person garden view and €42,50 per person ocean view. Room with balcony, comfy bed, dinner and breakfast included on this price. Staff was very polite and knowledgeable about what to do around.

Very good spot to experience Blue Lagoon with just few people.

Our third year and we were not disappointed. Just the perfect way to escape the rat race. Quiet, clean, comfortable hotel. Wonderful food, friendly staff, efficient reception. Perfect for anyone who is just looking for a simple, peaceful escape. No airs or graces, just good value for money. Wonderful, thank you Comino Hotel.

Loved the small island of Comino. It is beautiful. The only hotel on the island is ok. Tired would be the best way to describe it. Good size bedroom, beds reasonably comfortable, pillows terrible. There was a fridge and a TVs which had films in English which was a bonus. The bathroom was tired but clean. The toilet took ages to fill. Our bathroom became flooded because of a leak, which was fixed the next day. We were offered another room but it was not as good as the first one so we stayed put. We had half board. There was plenty of food. It was ok but nothing fabulous. It was always a buffet style meal with plenty of choices though the vegetarian options were uninteresting. House wine was ok and €6 a litre, would have been nicer if it was chilled. Drink and snack prices were expensive. €4.50 for a pint, €3.50 for an ice cream and so on. You have to wear armbands to ensure you are not an interloper! There are no shops on the island other than the hotel boutique which didn't sell drinks. Pool is large, saltwater with plenty of sunbeds. Very cold and with a dirty tidemark. Internet was slow and interrupted.
The hotel runs a boat service to and from Gozo and Malta. All in all I enjoyed the stay but the lack of competition for this place means you have to put up with expensive prices and tiredness of the hotel.
