“The friendliest guesthouse around!”
Reviewed 22 May 2013

What a wonderful guesthouse! Having spent a wonderful week at Electra in Gozo my girlfriend and I moved over to Malta for another week of holiday. When we left Electra we were both really sad and in fact felt a bit homesick we had felt so welcomed.

At Electra we really did feel like part of the family and this really made our stay very special.

The room was well laid out and always very clean. A good bathroom with very powerful shower! The balcony was lovely too and gave a nice vista out on the bay, whilst being baked in afternoon/evening sunshine. Nothing we asked for was any trouble and they were all so flexible to our timings.

Now that we are back to our normal lives, we both miss our evening aperitifs outside the bar, hearty breakfasts and the warm family feeling of our stay.

Many thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.... we'll be back!

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony so you get the afternoon/evening sunshine!

we stayed at electra guest house in march 2013 and it was one of the most enjoyable stays in marsalforn in 20 yrs we been going there ,we have always been in self catering and driven there in campervan but this trip was so relaxing and noel and joanne are the perfect hosts, the bedrooms are spotless and showers were brilliant, the breakfast are perfect nothing too much trouble and more than I could ever eat [saying nothing about hubby ]and as much as you can eat ,very well situated in marsalforn,, would recommend to anyone looking for 5 star accommodation at a sensible price .will certainly be back .well done joanne and noel and the lovely staff they have .

You really should't miss having breakfast at Electra, especially on a Sunday. This is the place to go to if you want to hear the talk of the town, obviously if you're familiar with the Maltese language, or to see the most interesting people around. It's a meeting place for people from all walks of life, and for the Gozitan bikers too. It's also the right choice for a good, tasty and typical English fry-up. There are other choices, which are all also worth the spend. We've been going to Electra for breakfast for many years now, on our frequent visits to Gozo, and have never been disappointed.

I have been privileged to have visited the Electra on 3 separate holidays this year.
The home made fish soup and the apple pie are superb and could well give any 4 star
restaurant a lesson in customer satisfaction.
The hours which Joanne and Noel work (7am until midnight) show their responsibility
and commitment both to their business and to their customers.
The refurbished bed rooms are kept spotlessly clean and the delicious breakfasts can be eaten outdoors or in the restaurant.
I thoroughly recommend this guest house
Try also the choice of ciders they have on offer. At the end of the day customer satisfaction
is reflected in greater rewards to the owners which Joanne and Noel deserve

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view cost slightly more but are worth the extra Euros

Enjoy the family and friends who surround the Electra guest house, the good value accommodation, the views from a front facing bedroom, the smart interiors in an old house, the generous English breakfasts, the great position in Marsalforn Bay, and understand all the good intentions . When the enthusiasm and kindness lead to overbooking and room reallocation we just saw it as part of the Gozitan experience!

Room Tip: Inner rooms are cheaper but pay for the view..go on .

We stayed in an excellently remodelled room. Its also right by the little beach in Marsalforn and the bus station. Heartwarmingly friendly service by the very nice, authentic and friendly owners! It's also really good value. I would always go again.

Spent a week on Gozo learning to dive with Scuba King and as a single traveller was booked into what was described to me as a bed and breakfast. My thoughts were it sounds good value and I just need somewhere to sleep so I a not too bothered about the quality. As it turned out the setting and accommodation were well beyond what I expected. All the rooms have been recently refurbished and look really smart. The hotel/cafe/restaurant is a family run business and Joanna and her husband make you really feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and the bedrooms were kept spotless throughout my visit. As well as eating there, the location right in the bay meant that I often just sat outside reading my book, sipping wine after a long day diving - heaven! A telling sign was how it was obviously a gathering place for local people first thing in the morning to have a coffee/ breakfast and catch up before they went to work. Its not a 'swanky 5 star hotel' before anyone gets a false impression, it is a simple, good quality guest house very much reflecting the relaxed, friendly spirit of Gozo. Overall effect, trouble free stay, felt well looked after, good value and I would definitely stay there again.

Many thanks to all at Electra

Philip

Room Tip: Perhaps consider asking for a room with a balcony at the front as it gets the sun all day from that...
