I was very disappointed with this hotel.
The room number 220 was like a niche, because there wasn't any window.
Forniture very old and bed unconfortable.
Hairdryer didn't work . Wi/fi sometimes works, most of times didnt work!
Breakfast consists only in one typology of cheese, one typology of ham, egg and bean .
I believe lot of rewiews here are acting in bad faith, only to attract clients.
Never more.

We remember these guests very well. When they checked in they made a fuss over the room. Their real complaint was that the room did not have a balcony, when it was clear that they had booked what we call an internal room, i.e. a room with no balcony. These guests booked from an internet website and they had a clear choice of rooms and for a little bit more they could have chosen a room with balcony. So we cannot understand how they would expect a room with balcony when than they did not pay for one. Unfortunately this happens a lot - people delibrately book the cheapest room they find and when they check in they pick up a fuss to get a superior room than the one they paid for. Our commitment is clear - we allocate the room that you have booked for. As for the size of the room, admittedly it is not the biggest of rooms, but it satisfies the licencing criteria of a three star hotel. In fact when we offered them another internal room which is larger in size they asked if the room had a balcony, which, since it was another internal room, it did not have a one (balcony), and so they declined to change rooms. This proves that their real issue was the balcony and not the size of the room.

Given this negative disposition because of this balcony issue, we are not surprised over the other negative comments. The furniture is not old and if the hair dryer was not working they could have reported it to be fixed. We provide free internet in the rooms, wired or wireless. The problem with wi-fi is that when people use their devices somewhere else, their devices retain the IP address from their previous connection which prevents them from getting internet connection from our equipment. This is a technical issue which is beyond our control. Some people do not know what an IP address is, let alone how to change the IP address, so we usually reset our equipment to make it easier for them when it really is a problem which does not have anything to do with us, but we cannot do this all the time.

Regarding breakfast we can add the following items to the list: bacon, sausages, tomatoes, three types of bread, fresh fruit, 2 types of cereal, cake, yogurt, jams and marmalades, three types of juices, hot chocolate, coffee (even capuccino) and tea, all in buffet style. The coffee and juices we serve are the same as those served in four star hotels throughout the island.

Seriously - the place is mega cheap and the service you get is much better than 3 star. I've staying in 5 star places that had tackier rooms than this hotel. Ok the morning buffet is limited but what do you expect? An omlette station for €20? Seriously the things available are more than enough - there's good variety, bread, cereal, cheese and hame, jams, yoghurts, fruit, english breakfast and the other basics. More than enough for a human being that does not eat as much as a war tank. Also the buffet in the evening is huge! Wonderful :) Internal rooms tend to be small so spend a tad more and take a country view/street view room, it's worth the extra few euros. This place is right in the middle of all the activity in Gozo so perfect to spend a couple of nights in the centre without being in a busy road (it's always quite in Gozo!). Definitely recommended!

Room Tip: Take a country view room or street view, not internal.

Recently, I decided to stay one more night in Gozo other than the 2 nights I had already booked in another hotel. The question was, where can I book that would accommodate me on the very same day?

I found the Downtown hotel, I took a gamble as I do not normally stay in less than 4* hotels. The staff helped me book accommodation on the very same say in a Country View room.

The hotel is in the very centre of Victoria, not more than 5 minutes away from the biggest shopping complex in Gozo and the heart of it all. Breakfast was very decent, also, included cooked breakfast. Room including bathroom was very clean and fully air conditioned. Also, balcony was very nice and not so small. Although did not use the pool, it looked very nice and well kept and staff advised it is open until around 8pm which is great!

I would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel because it is really a bit more than just a 3* hotel and very good value for money - I will certainly return back :)

Needed a quiet place to stay but wanted to be central. Gozo is not big but still I needed to move about. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Quite central andeasy to get to. Close to bus station and twon centre. Staff extremely helpful and attentive. Food good to excellent. I will be back whenever I visit Gozo.

Room Tip: Country views for aummer are cooler, Street view for winter. Otherwise all excellent

The basic rooms here are reasonable for what one pays for it. They're large and well reasonably appointed. Some rooms have only a small window looking into an internal wall, but at least there is some light to help orient you.

It's well located, within walking distance of central Victoria and the main bus terminal. There is plenty of free parking if you have hired a car.

Breakfast is OK - nothing special, but good quality produce is used.

The only real negative is the very short and limited opening hours on the pool - not a huge issue in Gozo since the beach isn't far away, but it may be important to some.

Check in and check out was no fuss and we didn't have any complaints. We would happily stay here again.

This is a well priced comfortable hotel. Friendly competent staff, and the restuarant serves some supprisingly good food. However be aware that if you are not young and sprightly or have a car, then the walk up the hill to the centre of Victoria is taxing to say the least.

I don't usually like to stay in a hotel that has less than 4 stars but everyone said that this hotel was good so we decided to try it and i'm glad we did. One may not feel as pampered as when staying in a 4 or 5 star but you do have some comforts of a 4 star. The A/c was very good in every part of the hotel and it's adjusted from each room. There is also free WIFI in all rooms and a lovely little pool on the roof. My daughter also enjoyed the lovely children's play area and there is also a nice coffee shop with some lovely cakes. Breakfast was also good and the hotel is very clean.
