Well located near the centre of Victoria (Rabat), nice comfortable room with a fridge. Breakfast was good and included hot food, bacon, eggs, beans, and the usual toast and corn flakes.
There is a small pool on the roof, ok for sunbathing but not big enough for swimming.
We ate in the evening in the little cafe downstairs, and the food was nice and well priced, pizza etc.
There was plenty of street parking.
A good base to explore Gozo, and not too far from the ferry at Mgarr.

We spent 2 nights at Downtown Hotel we went to Gozo due that Xaghra village were celebrating their feast of Marija Bambina . The room had a street view with the balcony was well sized clean and comfortable with airconditioning . Restaurant at the hotel starts dinner at 18.30 there is an alternative downstairs at Lucky Jacks to dine at the same time which I found a bit strange that you cannot dine before . To dine before you have to dine either out of the village or outside the hotel , which we did we al;ways dined outside at xlendi and once at Lucky Jacks , were staff is friendly I would like to mention one in particular Frans .We only took breakfast once the day of departure was not much variety for continental breakfast , the cups of coffee were all dirty from underneath were not polished properly.
On the whole it was an enjoyable stay

We stayed at the Downtown hotel for 10 days in August this year. The room had a country view and was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool was clean and had wonderful views.
When we booked we understood that the restaurant was recommended for quality evening meals. Upon arrival we asked whether we had to book for the evening meal and were told 'no, its always open'. However, the restaurant did not open in the evening the whole time we were there. Yes, we could eat in the bar area but this was simply the same menu available as was available during the day - this was disappointing. On the plus side, it was only a short walk into the centre of Victoria where we had a good choice of restaurants.
A comfortable stay in a well positioned hotel.

Room Tip: Country view rooms are away from the road noise.

We spent 5 nights here at the beginning of September.
Perfectly ok with a few minor issues. Room size fine, clean and well enough maintained.
Air con unit had 2 settings, either off or "jet engine", to have it on meant enduring a real noise issue which meant that we had it off at night and got consequently hot.
Housekeeping generally ok but when we ran out of soap we were not replenished until I complained.
I had some laundry done and they were more than a little vague about the cost and return time.
Small pool on the roof ok but nothing special.
Breakfast was poor with watery orange juice and little choice of poor quality stuff.
Lucky Jacks bowling alley/entertainment/bar in hotel basement was an interesting distraction. Kids club seemed well attended by locals.
Struck me as popular with locals.

Good hotel close to the city center (5 min walk). Close to mac donald and supermarket.
Small swimmingpool on top. Good amusement center for young children.
Rooms are quite small but there is everything needed,
If you contatc directly the hotel you will get more flexibility compared to booking.com (price pp)
continental breackfast with poor choise.

Room Tip: avoide front street rooms. It's not an important street but can be noisy at night due tu young p...

Went for lunch, nice food, modern decor & friendly staff, there were quite a few flies in the restaurant though, I'm surprised they didn't have electric bug zappers, It was a short walk to the shops. I left a room review based on the overall look of the hotel as I didn't actually stay there & trip advisor wouldn't let me leave them blank.

What drew us first to this small 3star hotel was that pets are welcome, so we took our cat with us. It is a very clean hotel, with very helpful, friendly staff. The rooms are well equipped, the air conditioner worked perfectly, the bathrooms very clean, towels changed every day, a very good hair drier. There was enough space to put away all our stuff. The balcony had a country view. If you like to sunbathe in the balcony choose a room with a balcony on the front of the hotel. Since we are Maltese and have already had enough sun, we were thankful that our balcony was in the shade practically all day.
Breakfast had all the basics, two types of cereal, yogurt, baked beans, sausages, perfectly grilled bacon, tomatoes, eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, cake, jams, honey etc. For a three star hotel it was perfect. Al items were replaced continually.
Their coffee shop has a good selection of snacks at very reasonable prices, and most importantly all dishes tasted great. For dinner we had a set menu with quite a reasonable choice. The restaurant is very nicely decorated with alcoves for romantic dinners. The buffet on Saturday had a good choice and every dish tasted just great. Compliments to the chef.
The only downside was that the hotel pool is small, but we solved that by going to Xlendi .
Thank you for a lovely stay, we intend to come again next Summer!

Room Tip: Front rooms get the sun. Rooms with country view are shady.
