Stayed there for 1 night (thankfully not longer) last Saturday.
Place was very damp and not very clean. The bungalow we were given was not worth the money we pain.
The mattresses of the beds are the worst thing there is. They are very very old overused. The springs could be felt. Unbelievable!
We think that these bungalows should get a total renovation. The bathroom tiles are even worse, they are like 2 layers of tiles stuck together, leaving the bottom tile uncovered for some reason.
The tap on the sink in the kitchen was not in place, so we couldn't really use it.
Wouldn't really recommend this to anyone and I will not return for sure, as we are still suffering from a bad backache from those mattresses.
No pets are allowed, yet our neighbour on the floor above us had a small dog that barked every so often. And also played the piano, at any time of day.

Room Tip: Top bungalows

We recently visited Gozo and stayed at the Cornucopia Hotel. We actually stayed in the bungalows attached to the hotel, these were very comfortable and well equipped. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and helpful, the food was excellent and plentiful.
On the second day of the holiday I had a fall and broke my wrist, the staff provided support throughout our stay and went out of their way to help us.
From the bungalow we had excellent views across the valley an to the sea. A very quiet location and ideally situated to tour the island by car. The local town had some restaurants and the local people all seemed very friendly.

Room Tip: Bungalows are very spacious with 2 or 3 bedrooms and have facilities for self catering if you requir...

With a horrible bathroom 30 years old, a broken mixer, no shower in the same mixer, old furniture, broken toilet seat, warped wooden cabinet, broken taps....appaling decor for a 4star hotel, no comparison to hotels in the vicinity that are truly 4star...would give a 2star and no further....not recommended for family with kids at all.....only positive thing is friendly people in the restaurant....never will go there again until they refurbish...

We thank you for your comments following your overnight stay with us. We are sorry that during your very short stay, you did not share the warmth and hospitality experienced by most of our guest, being mostly repeat guests and Maltese.
Anybody who has been to our Hotel would surely not agree with your comment that is not family friendly or even worse that we discriminate on nationality, as can be seen from previous reviews.
We accept that some of our bathrooms have an over head shower instead of a hand held shower, and the furniture while fully functional, is in keeping with the rustic style of the whole Hotel.
Should you change your mind in visiting us again, we look forward to welcome you back and make sure that you will have an enjoyable stay with us.

We probably would never have found this idylic hotel if it hadn't been for our daughter and husband who live on Malta and had discovered it.
Tucked away in a quiet back street on the hillside of Xaghra, this hotel, with its charming architecture, commands a superb view across the valley and to the sea.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole place had a relaxing, cosy ambience.
We only had one night there, so apart from a good breakfast, we can't comment on the cuisine in general. The room however, was very comfortable with the typical exposed stonework which makes Maltese & Gozitan properties so attractive. Sitting on the little balcony outside the room, we could enjoy the afternoon sun and a Cisk, while taking in the inspiring views across the northern Gozo countryside until the sun set behind its flat-topped hills.
The hotel has two pools, one in a secluded courtyard, the other, larger one in a garden area behind the hotel.
A 15 minute stroll gets you into the main square of Xaghra, and a 5 minute drive down the hill brings you to one of the finest restaurants in the Maltese islands, the Ta Frenc. A little further on and you are at Ramla Bay with its long stretch of beach.
All-in-all a great base for your visit to Gozo.

Room Tip: For the views, ask for a room overlooking the valley and sea.

Nice hotel, right in the centre of Gozo island. The dinner at the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous, high quality, and efficient professionals. Breakfast was ok, too.The room was standard, but no extra needs when you´re on holidays in such an island. A car is very convenient for touring around. Nice view from the outside.

Recently we spent a weekend in this hotel. It was so peaceful and enjoyable. The layout of hotel is typical to a Maltese farmhouse. It has 2 pools and in winter it is cosy and welcoming. The room is quite big and warm. Our room was on the inside so at no time was there any noise from cars or anything really.. Silence ..perfect. the breakfast was good and staff polite and nice. Will go back for sure.

Room Tip: try booking a room or suite with a view..The view is glorious and beautiful.

This was my 2nd stay at Cornucopia, staying with a painting group, and the staff were once again friendly, helpful and efficient, the food was very good, and position on Gozo excellent, as it is easy to get to, but far enough away from the main tourist route not to be heaving!

Room Tip: As for a room to the front for fantastic sea views across the valley
