This place has to be France's best kept secret! A most beautiful place to rest, relax and recuperate and to enjoy the finest Normandie cuisine and the very best of French hospitality.

This was our 2nd time here and if anything it was even better than the first time! Sabine's cooking is good enough to grace a top restaurant and Jean-Francois's repartee is excellent, given English is not his first language.

The bedrooms are beautiful and the environment is so relaxing.

Now any qualms you may have about enjoying an evening meal with the hosts should be cast aside - it is the highlight of the "Clos du Quesnay" experience!

Frankly, neither my wife nor myself can wait to go back! As others have written, the hosts quickly become more than just hosts - they become your friends!

Room Tip: ALl the ones we have seen and slept in are great!

We stayed overnight on our way back to the Channel Tunnel - some 2 hours distant by motorway. We had booked a caravan with a little reservation on our part, but other reviews suggested it would be OK - and it certainly was! They are very compact, but brilliantly designed with everything one needs for an overnight stay. Not sure about a longer time with children in one however..........
The hospitality from Sabine & Jean-Francoise was excellent, and the evening meal with good company was superb. Breakfast & parking arrangements were very good too.

Room Tip: We heard good reports about their inside rooms too, but the caravans (4 of them) are a very interest...

If you are travelling in France from Calas, a stay at Clos Du Quesnay is a must. As you would expect, the rooms are presented to a superb standard, with lovely en suite facilities, but the real plus is the great welcome extended by the owners , Jean-Francois and Sabine.

They are very proficient, linguistically, in welcoming Engllish speaking guests, so there is no need to be nervous if you don't speak any French. Families are welcomed no matter how small or old the children, and family rooms are available.

Perhaps the nicest thing though is that an evening meal is offered, which is superbly cooked by Sabine herself , with any interesting local produces, and is very welcome after a long drive through France, and prevents you having to go out looking for alternatives. It s a sociable experience, with the chance to catch up with other guests and share experiences. However the meal is not compulsory if you d not wish to take advantage of it.

This was our third year staying at Clos Du Quesnay, and it is now not just an overnight stop but a part of our holiday, and our hosts are now more friends than anything else.

We will definitely be returning, and thoroughly recommend the bed and breakfast to any traveller.

Room Tip: Every room is superbly clean. Jean Francois will place you in the one most suitable to your needs, a...

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our time here. The owners are very friendly and they have done an amazing job creating this place to stay, the gardens were beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous and individually styled and then there are the Gypsy caravans which look amazing. They have made this a little sanctuary of peace and quiet and you can tell it has been a labour of love for them. The breakfast was a huge collection of home cooked and locally sourced goodies..

We were driving down to the Loire Region and decided to stay here en route on the 1st night of our holiday. We booked a family room and it was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the room was beautifully decorated and spacious. Although it was a family room the adults room was seperated from the childrens which meant we all got some privacy (although the door could easily have been left open if you wanted it to)
The gardens are wonderful and the gypsy caravans looked like a very romanctic place to stay... maybe next time.
We did not eat in the evening but the visitors book was full of compliments on the food and it looked like people had a great time. The breakfast was delicious and was full of homemade goodies. This really is a lovely place to stay and you are made to feel very welcome.

We stayed in the room most suitable for disabled, which was a large bedroom with a very comfortable wide bed and a commodious bathroom with roll-in shower. Jean and Sabine were exceptionally good hosts, greeting us as though we were the only guests; at the excellent set menu supper, there was a variety of travellers staying (6 others from France, Belgium and UK) and all enjoyed a superb meal of local produce and styles with a variety of aperitifs, wines and digestifs with strong local connections. Jean is an experienced maker of cider and calvados. Other visitors are well advised to arrive in time for such a supper as it has a set time and should not be missed. The room was clean, well finished and afforded us a good nights sleep after an indulgent and superb meal. Jean has worked very hard over many years planting trees, especially the full and plentiful apple orchard. Breakfast of Sabine's breads, croissants, cakes and coffee was full and a temptation to overeat before our long journey on to Dinan.

We both recommend this charming, well run and homely chambre d'hote.

We stayed here for one night and were delighted with everything about the property. We could not sample the dinner as we stayed on a Monday night, but the room was excellent as was the breakfast. As others have said, the hosts were entirely charming and we have already recommended Le Clos du Quesnay to many others.
