I had read the previous reviews for the Duncan Holiday Accommodation and thought it a bit over the top. Eventually I got the opportunity to go there. I can add little more to the praise that has been heaped on the Duncan Restaurant & Bar above which are 9 rooms spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Bedding is changed frequently (because Malta can get very hot) and towels are changed daily. On top of all of this you have below the best value for money food and drink in the town and you are personally looked after by the owner Michael Baldacchino, his brothers John & David and the very attentive Maria. Although this haven will never compete with the Ritz it offers so much more than the Ritz would or could ever do. Added to that its location overlooks the beautiful fishing harbour of Marsaxlokk. I warmly and sincerely would recommend this as a holiday to anyone who is looking for a pleasant and relaxing holiday and moreover you will never hear the noise from the bar and restaurant that you would expect here in the UK.

Room Tip: Ask for room No 1 - it overlooks the harbour and you have a very comfortable balcony.

We stayed in Duncans for the first time in October.Everything was excellent,The room was a very good size, very clean, and was serviced every day including fresh towels. The breakfast,if you choose to have it ,was freshly prepared and as much as you could eat.Michael and his brothers were very helpful and run a very good business.Meals in the restaurant also good, and lots of other restaurants in Marsaxlokk if you want to try somewhere different.Marsaxlokk is great, really suited us and the good bus service made it easy to travel anywhere on the island.Lots of people come to Marsaxlokk on a Sunday for the Market, too busy for us, but no problem getting a bus to another town.We recommend Duncans and hope to return soon.

From the airport meeting to the final breakfast, nothing could have been better. Food served hot and efficiently, friendly waitress, and good atmosphere. HUGE room with small balcony, kitchen wanting for nothing, fridge, microwave, TV, plenty of cupboards and drawers...clean towels daily.

We had a wonderful stay at Duncans. The resort is wonderful. Bustling with tourists through the day and they all go back to their concrete jungles in the North of the island in the evening leaving the picturesque harbour to the few resident visitors and locals. This is because there is very little accommodation available here. Our stay was before the main tourist season and our days were spent touring other parts of Malta but we returned with anticipation each evening to our tranquil base.
The rooms at Duncans are superb - light and spacious, but most do not have a sea view, but this does not matter. The location is on the main square just by the sea and very close to the picturesque church. Unfortunately because we were out of season Duncans restaurant was not open most evenings but there are many other restaurants along the front, all of an excellent standard. Breakfasts were generous and very comprehensive and the boys could not do enough for us. Highly recommendable.

Room Tip: Room 1 i9f possible. More expensive but has a balcony overlooking the main square and the harbour.

On arriving at this gem of a town, we were greeted by some very friendly faces, who also helped us with a situation that needed some local translation to solve it. The staff went above and beyond their own duties to help us out.

The room was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. Their local knowledge was very good and were always keen to help us with our needs.

We ate here on several occasions and found the food to be of a very high standard and good value for money. You could not knock the portions that were served!

Overall, this place is by far the best in the area and has a compliment of staff that just add to whole experience.

I would whole heartedly recommend any one who is visiting this area to stay here and come and experience it for yourselves.

Room Tip: Ask for the front one over looking the bay.

Though we did not have a great room : no view from windows and very dark we strongly recommend this place in Malta. The location on the village square is perfect, the hosts very nice and the food from the restaurant downstairs, though simple : fresh and of good quality. This guesthouse is the perfect spot if you want to discover the south of the island. Internet is available free of charge as well as air-conditioning. Plenty of activities are proposed to the guests, boat trips, painting lessons, excursions, airport transfers.

I have stayed here on many occasions and the standard is as good as ever.
It is noticeable that they have many return visitors which is always a good sign.
Lots of very good restaurants in Marsaxlokk and frequent buses to different parts of the island.

Thanks to Michael and John I again had a very nice stay.......Dave
