Returned to the Grotto after 6 year absence, to show it to son and daughter in law. Great improvement for visitors. A 5euro ticket allows you to visit the Grotto, the war shelters and catacombs and the museum. The opportunity to break for a welcome drink/bite to eat is also possible. Parking on-street is available. We visited in August and had no problem. For those that like history this is worth a visit, taking you through centuries of Malta history in one place.

Note that this is about the church itself, not the catacombs, grotto or museum. The church is closed in the afternoon and only opens after the catacombs close. Also, the chapel over the grotto can be visited from the catacombs, not from the church.
What I liked was that all the doors are open, besides the main church area there are a few other rooms you can just walk into. The church is nice, but nothing special compared to other parish churches.

Sadly, they open to their convenience and not for visitors.
There is a four hour closed period following mid-day, It looks so good from outside.
