Malta and Comino Full Day Cruise Tour

This was a complimentary cruise provided as part of our package and was extremely good. We then booked the Gozo and Comino cruise with Captain Morgan, this was also very good as far as the cruise went. The Gozo and comino part were a bit rushed. To be honest though I had no notion of going back to either so maybe that was just as well.

We arrived in Malta at Valetta on a cruise ship but very easy to get to Sliema by local bus. From Valletta Cruise Terminal head for Barrakka Gardens 5-10 minute flat walk you, can take the lift 1Euro return which takes you to the town, you then head for bus terminal about 5 minute walk and the catch the number 12/13/21 bus 1.5 Euro return. Journey to waterfront takes about 20 minutes and you can't miss the stop to get off it's outside a very small Marks and Spencer's and BHS stores and there are lots of booths on the waterfront selling boat trips. We went on the Captain Morgan trip which I can recommend but make sure you barter on price. The price started at 15 Euro's each but after negotiating an over sixths rate and the fact that there were 4 of us we got it down to 10 Euro's each. The boat trip takes 1.5 hours and has an English speaking informative guide.

We booked this trip and found ourself on a charming looking pirate ship, a bit late start then we were on our way, with the Captain giving us informative commentary, the views of Malta from the sea were great but we're surpassed by Comino and Gozo, we had opted for the bus tour of Gozo which although fairly hurried was again informative. We also took the jet boat option and we're glad we did, €15 each for about 15 mins was superb fun. Wife swam in the blue lagoon while I doodled around. It's sold at €35 each which is reasonable vfm, but a wee bit astute haggling will chop at least €7 each of this with the reps at Sliema waterfront. So recommended, go, enjoy me hearties.

My boyfriend and I went on the Fernandes cruise to Comino and the Blue Lagoon! We went all inclusive so dinner, snacks, drinks all day and transfer from the hotel to the boat in Sliema were all included. The crew were very friendly and the captain did his best to make the journey comfortable for all. The speed boat trip for extra around the caves was great fun. Jumping from the boat into the crystal clear blue water was an experience we will never forget! I wouldn't say the blue lagoon is the best place for snorkelling but otherwise it was beautiful.

First of all, this tour delivers exactly what it offers it's the fine print that May get you This review is for the day long tour on the wooden gullet Fernandez II The wooden ship is beautiful but only had seats for about 20% of the passengers and these were on the top most deck without shade. The remainder had to sit on the deck on exercise mats Young people adapted fine, but middle age and older (including me) found it quite uncomfortable for the 2 hour nonstop trip to Gozo. The other major detail is that it is a cash bar for ALL liquids including water so basically bring lots of money because you will spend the day under the sun and have to pay for every drink except wine or beer at lunch. There was also no diet sodas and a cup of coke was 2.5 E It would really make a difference if the cruise would provide at least water included in the fee. While half the passengers took a tour of Gozo, the remainder stayed on board for lunch The food was excellent We then swam in a bay off Gozo but this was difficult as it was choppy and jelly fish were there. At Comino you had the option of swimming in calmer waters or taking a jet boat ride for 15 euros we did the boat ride and found it fun All in all a long day on the water 9 hours. If you take this tour BYOB x 2 --bring your own butt and bottles for comfort
