Nice little pub, cheap pints (or Cans), nice staff and perfect place to stop and have a few if your heading in to St. Julians for a night out.

This bar is slightly off the main street of Sliema (Tower Road) - but once you find it, you'll never want to leave!! The staff (Dermot and Corinna) were lovely, accomodating, friendly, and most importantly, never let your drink run dry!! They even ordered in extra bottles of what I was drinking to keep me amused. The clientele varies from the barflies to stragglers on their way out to Paceville and those in the local hotels who stumble upon it. Such is the atmosphere that you get to know everyone there and they greet you with a friendly smile regardless of which of the above categories you fall under. The Irish theme just gives it a warm edge and attracts the lovely Irish folk around Sliema! I would definitely go back here and would recommend it to anyone who finds themself on Malta, even if it's just for an afternoon drink!

The previous reviewer has this place spot on - great for a night with friends old and new, just as fab for gentle afternoon refreshment propping up the bar with a newspaper and falling into conversation with the other visitors.
To add some practical info:
Currently closed on Mondays, open from around 1pm until late the rest of the week.
Table football and darts for entertainment; toasted sandwiches at 2 euros make a great snack. Cisk on draft with a variety of other canned/bottled beers and the usual range of spirits and soft drinks available.
To find the Ramblers Rest: Tower Road in Sliema is the promenade up towards St Julians. The most southerly bus stop is by the Preluna Hotel; the next one is just before the New Towers. At this second bus stop (and it's only a couple of minutes on foot, I'm using the bus stop as a landmark!) turn up the side road that runs almost parallel to the sea front and after about 10 paces, look to your left up the side road .... the Ramblers Rest, a cool drink and a very warm welcome are right there.

I had the pleasure of performing close-up magic in this hidden gem of a bar last Saturday evening. Where do I start? Your hosts, Dermot & Corinna ensure a most warming of welcomes to both regulars and strangers alike.
Such a friendly atmosphere, and your glass is never empty for long. They could NOT do enough for you. Set back just a little from the main road, please take the time to hunt it down and drink the cheapest pint of Cisk in town.
Dermot's Irish charm and Corinna's wonderful sense of humour combine to ensure a great drinking experience. Get talking to her, listen to that accent, and guess where she's from. You'll never be close, not in a million years. Uncanny!
You WILL make this your local when in the vicinity. It's mine now, and I live in the UK.
Oh yes, try the 'house speciality' cocktails. Ouch!
I cannot wait to return.
To the hosts, I say simply:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
