We picked Pebbles on the basis of Trip Advisor ratings and generally it met or exceeded our expectations. We stayed 7 nights in an apartment with a harbour view and balcony, and I would recommend that choice, being here without the view would be a real waste. The Tex Mex at the front was lively, to say the least, but once inside and on the 6th floor we weren't aware of too much noise. Only small issues were getting the TV to work (we didn't) and the Phd in Astrophysics needed to get the washer dryer to work. Eventually I ignored the leaflet and pushing buttons randomly worked after a while. Great location for ferries to Valletta (only 10 minutes trip every half hour) and Gozo / Comino.

Room tip: Go for harbour view and balcony, there are 8 floors, so I would ask for higher up.

Had studio apartment on second floor overlooking the harbor. It was compact but had a full sized fridge with freezer for ice which was great. Small balcony with 2 chairs and table. Great location for bars and restaurants. Beeping of pedestrian lights might annoy some as for the noise from the bar open until 4am was not a problem for us but might be if you are a very light sleeper. Great walks along the foreshore but surrounding streets are quite hilly, bring walking shoes. Maintenance probably requires a bit of attention - globes not working, clothes line broken etc. Would stay again.

Stayed in a "seaview apartment" on the 4th floor for 7 nights. Nicely fitted out, comfortable size apartment with small balcony, table & 2 chairs. Had an initial problem with getting internet connection, eventually resolved by connecting to the L2 router. A problem with the retractable clothes line was never resolved - we were told it would be replaced the next day with a new one. It never was. There was difficulty with the TV connections which was corrected when reported. There was also a flickering downlight which we tolerated, just got tired of complaining.

The apartment has a well equiped kitchen, modern efficient bathroom, good storage for clothes & bags. Spoiling the bathroom is the door swings close to the sink resulting in an awkward entry & exit. Excellent view over waterfront from front window & balcony. Housekeeping consists of daily changing of towels, emptying of bins, tea/coffee top up. Sheets were changed after 5 nights.

The room was very quiet with no sounds from neighbouring rooms, corridor or lift. With the balcony door closed there was just a whisper of sound from bars & restaurants downstairs. Would not like to be any lower than 4th floor though. Superb location, handy to buses & ferries. Would stay again.

In a busy street full of night life but our small room at the back was wonderfully quiet, air conditioned and looked out onto a quiet little street. The room was small but very nice. The small toilet /shower was more than adequate. Slept well. There is even a small gym. The inclusive cooked breakfast 3 doors up at the three angels was wonderful in the mornings. The hotel is well signed and even though we arrived at 1:30 am local time, guys from the bar on the ground floor appeared out of nowhere and helped us with luggage and the guy on reception couldn't have been more helpful. The Hotel is very close to the buses and the ferry to Valletta. If you are lucky enough to be over 60 use your E111 card on the ferry to prove your age and pay a few cents rather than a few euros to get across. The hotel price includes free access to the Med asia beach club normally in excess of 10 euros per person. Its an easy walk across the peninsular ( use Google maps) and you can relax by or in 2 lovely pools with pool boy service if you so require. This would normally be above our pay grade but it was a great place to go as there is nowhere really to swim otherwise unless you want to venture out onto the rocks and into the sea. Don't forget to visit the center point shopping centre . It's home from home and about a 20 min stroll along the promenade. We thought Pebbles was very good value for money and would certainly stay there again.

Room tip: Smaller rooms without sea view are probably quieter

Hotel on good location in Sliema although in busy area but close to ferry terminal to Valetta. Reception staff helpful on check in although on occasions on returning to hotel we were not even acknowledged - would have thought this would have been a security issue.

On visiting our 2 bedroom apartment we were extremely disappointed to see that the 2nd bedroom was no bigger than a large cupboard and small window looking out onto air con units.Asked staff for change but were told this would be another 200Euros per night so not worth it. The beds were extremely small, soft and uncomfortable. sheets did not fit the beds properly and when you turned in the night the whole sheet came with you. Would certainly not re-visit. Beach club that you can visit is about a 15 min walk away so be aware of this before booking.
