We visited Sliema for shopping and started walking at the Seafront and up some of the streets; it is a very busy city, full of first class shops as well as many restaurants encompassing a wide range of cuisines.

The view from the Strand is wonderful and walking in the inner Sliema streets is really fun.

When traveling to Malta I recommend using the hop on hop off buses. The boy named Rueben helped us book our tickets for the ride. He was very pushy but was trying to learn how to be a salesmen. He told us that the other company didn't do as many stops and that MaltaSightseeing was much better. Since the island is big it was good using this bus company because you are outside on the upper deck with a great view the whole time. It will get you around the whole island and get you to the main attractions. Enjoy!

The Malta Sightseeing Bus is the best way to travel around Malta. Split into two routes, north and south makes it easy to plan your day. The commentary is very good and is available in 16 languages. You hop on and off the bus anytime you wish. The bus drops you outside each attraction and then you hop onto the next bus to the next attraction. It is not compulsory to get off the bus you can just stay on the bus.

The transfer service from hotel to Sliema is excellent.

At 17 euros for the 'Hop on hop off' bus and a free Valletta Harbour cruise (recommended) it's extremely good value, especially considering the extras. Buses do go to all the right places, the drivers and the representatives are helpful, the audio is average. A bonus was that they help organised our transport to Silema in the morning and provided mini buses to take people back to the hotels at the end of the day (6pm) you just need to ask them about this and they're happy to help making it a stress-free day. The exact same harbour cruise with a different operator is 16 euros alone and then add on top the euros you would have spent on transport to/back from Silema etc. you'll realise how good of a deal this actually is.

Two dislikes however, Firstly, I feel the bus spends too much time driving around the outside of Valletta, one lap is enough. Secondly, one driver stopped for 20 minutes at a random shop in Zetjun, which must have been his families as he stopped the bus and then went behind the counter serving people sandwiches. Clever, around 20 tourists bought something, but it put the bus 30 minutes behind schedule and that, combined with time wasted in Valletta was the time short we were for a 'hop off' I had planned.
