Despite the rather attractive images and promises on their website this hotel turned out to be very dated, unkempt and poorly run. It opened in 1969 and I doubt anything has been done to it since then. All inclusive that includes very little. Miserable staff that go out of their way to avoid helping and, with the exception if one rare and excellent evening, entertainment that did far from entertain. By far the worst holiday I have had. I was counting the hours until I could go home. I wouldn't return to this hotel even if they paid me.

Good location and well-worth upgrade to "seaview" room (tho many of these rooms only get sun on balcony in mornings). Easy access by foot to St Julians/Paceville or new Sliema Shopping Mall, great bus service to Valetta (and other parts of the Island via bus-stops just few metres from hotel.) Food good in Buffet Restaurant. Public areas good, rooms maybe could do with upgrading, especially beds and furnishings, but overall good value for money.

Room Tip: SeaView rooms ok for size and worth the extra for the balcony and view (tho sun only on balcony in m...

This hotel is a good place to stay when you visit Malta. The hotel is close to local bus that take you all over Malta. Hotel has a good view from the 13th floor skybar. Breakfast is very good and the in beds you sleep very good.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view

Stayed here for a week in may, quite old hotel , but very good for getting around the island as bus stops outside very cheap, food Ok but be aware you have to pay for any drinks with the evening meals and that means water as well

Good location for exploring Valletta and thanks to the buses (cheap and go everywhere) the main sights of Malta itself. The area is quiet and safe. Loads of restaurants around, shopping street too.
State of the room & bathroom incline to 3 star hotel but the hotel has got loads of amenities which, I assume, make the hotel 4 star. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast decent and sufficient.
The housekeepers were a bit eager to clean the rooms. They starting gathering on the corridors and chatting to each other after 7am. The walls are quite thin so they woke us up twice. They also knocked on our doors around 8am already to ask whether they could clean the room. We as well as many others then just hanged notice (Do not disturb) on the door handle a night before. It kept them away.

Spend 4 days in the hotel, nothing really wrong, but all short of expectations for a 4 stars hotel. Deocr is from 80s and since then it has not been upgraded....looks stuffy and old. Mini bar is empty...no bottle of drinking water on arrival, no hair dryer....small tv in room, and old looking.
Again, this has been an 80s 4 stars hotel, but 30 years later, without any proper renovation, one star is lost!, at the best 3 stars hotels. Shame, i think location and structure offers a lot of possibilities... I do not recommend the hotel, i mean, it is not SO bad, but no worth the price and expectations. I would not come back here, i prefer to try something better quality

The Sliema is a very nice hotel in Malta.
I was at this hotel for 7 weeks and I did not have any problems there.
Their staff was very nice and the guests were really polite and clever.
Thank you very much to Ivan, Chars Valliy, David and other staff.
You are the best.
There is really good food for dinner and breakfast.
I was in room 4415.
