No real downside except bed was a bit lumpy. On main promenade road and handy for the bus (stop 'Antik') for services 12,13, 222, 202, 203,225 to get about (buses great value 6.50 euros a week's unltd travel). vending machoines for snacks. Free wifi and pay computers, V Basic breakfast 5 euros if you pay in advance, 6 if you don't. Walking distance of bars and restauants of St Julians/Paceville. Staff friendly enough. Small soap /shampoo sachets so best bring your own.Great value

Clean well equipped room. Very helpful knowledgeable staff. Bus stop right outside the hotel to virtually any point on the Island. Choice of local, Italian and Chinese restaurants within 30m. Real English pub next door with ATM just a few steps away. The one drawback if you can call it that is the hotel frontage is always in the shade. However would be a huge bonus in the summer although there is air con and heating to the rooms.
Balcony had wonderful views and was adequate for two people. Would definitely use this hotel again at any time of the year.

Found this hotel online and very happy with our choice. Convenient location for public transport and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Appreciated them going the extra mile and allowing us to store luggage there after we'd checked out to save carrying it around before moving onto Gozo.

In some ways it's churlish not to give five stars when you've had everything you wanted at a bargain price; a comfortable bed, excellent and delightful staff, a room with a fabulous view and which was well maintained by the room staff. All this in a situation which gives you excellent access to Malta's bus service and to a wide range of eateries within easy walking distance. In short we've just had a fabulous trip and would return straight away. We wouldn't look anywhere else at the superb out of season price we have enjoyed.

But five stars would seem too generous for those people who would be put off by the small and slightly unpredictable lift, the fact that all you'll get in toiletries is a couple of tiny bars of soap, the lack of communal facilities like a bar.

Hope that gives you the right idea. Arm yourself with a travel kettle and your own toiletries, and have a great stay.

Room Tip: The sea views from the higher floors are unbeatable, lower down the trees affect them

We stayed over Xmas 2013. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, the staff very helpful. The breakfast is ok, plenty of choice, but the same every day. Limited TV channels, only news channels and a couple of film channels in English. The location is great and it's easy to get everywhere by bus but if you hire a car be prepared to hunt the surrounding streets for a parking space. All in all, a good budget hotel, worth the money.

Good clean economical hotel in an interesting location. Accommodating staff. Our room was medium size, the bed large and firm, furnishings simple and updated. Noise from the corridor carries. Excellent sea view. Keys need to be left at the desk. Lots of buses outside, including one to the airport that worked very well early in the morning.

I'm of two minds whether the location was good or poor. Certainly the local amenities were good in St George's Bay and we had a couple of decent meals nearby. If you use public transportation, or don't enjoy walking, you might want to be nearer Valleta or one of the several bus terminals. Traffic congestion in some parts of Malta can be horrendous.

Hint: 2.60 euros per day for a Malta bus pass, allow more time than you would think for the size of the island, and if you are counting on a particular bus, arrive early because quite possibly the bus will arrive early as well. Or not.

We booked a family room, 2+1, here having been impressed by the price.

Turned out to give us good value. Big room, huge bathroom, free wifi and good location very close to a few really good restaurants.

The second floor (rear) room was a little noisier than we'd have liked, but hey this is a city, a seafront, so you have to expect a bit of noise.

We didn't take the breakfast - Peppi's across the road was sufficient and catered for some vegetarian needs.

Staff were very helpful in assisting us locate bus stops and advise on visits, etc.

All In all, a very good hotel which we'd use again

Room Tip: The higher up in the hotel the quieter traffic noise, probably
