Party of 6 stayed there at Carlton Hotel 261 Tower Road, Sliema, in 4 separate rooms. Group rate was not available - despite request in advance (website for hotel indicates group rate discount offer - to no avail).

Check-in reception / security un-trained, rude and unhelpful at one o'clock in the morning. No receipts. Toilet brushes at reception ladies and gents ground floor toilets should be changed more often at all MyCarltonHotels. Kettle for room was requested in advance via email.

Reception did not have proof of this request. Kettle offered 2 days after arrival. No proper adapter for plug and socket for kettle. Therefore could not use kettle for day 1 nor day 2 nor day 3. Finally had use of kettle for evening before check-out. There was no cup!
Airport transfer on arrival, did not display correct spelling of name in visible area of arrivals hall at Malta International Airport 12:30a.m. Please take note. Free wifi not working at hotel.

Room Tip: Those among us who reserved request for 'seaviews' in advance were told rudely not available on check-in.

We got quite a good deal with this hotel and I do think we really got what we paid for.....clean bed, clean bathroom, no frills.
It's in a good central location and the views from the rooftop are gorgeous. There is a tiny pool up there and the area is well kept with clean, comfortable sunbeds.
Our room itself was very dark. We were overlooked from apartments opposite so a light voile would have been nice at the window for privacy. Instead there was only a blackout curtain so it was pitch black and the lighting inside was terrible when trying to get dressed. Other than the wardrobe, there was only a couple of tiny bedside units and a dressing table that was neither use nor ornament. A chest of drawers or some kind of unit would have been so much better. The bathroom was the same, a tiny glass shelf in a good sized bathroom, so I had to put my toiletries on the floor in the corner of both rooms.
Our room was directly below the kitchen so 6am in the morning wasn't fun! We tried the breakfast one morning but it was awful with cheap, nasty sausages and orange juice. The balcony was tiny too. Our room didn't have a safety deposit box despite one being advertised. We were promised that someone would come out to fit one but it didn't materialise.
Our stay was pleasant, and the cleanliness was the most important thing, but with a few minor changes this place could be so much better.

We booked this place as it seemed most value for money. Rooms are of a decent size and cleanliness, although dated. Right outside a bus stop, and brilliant coffee place and gelato next door.
However, we had a few problems with the room such as the windows not being able to be locked (for safety reasons), light bulb not working, and also hot water running out every night. The staff were not very helpful in attending to these problems and did not turn up to help despite saying they would. In the end, we had to go down personally to reception to get them to do something about it.

For a 3 star hotel it is a brilliant option for anyone that wants an amazing view to wake up to every morning. I would recommend to request to stay on the 4th or 5th floor with balcony as these have the best views, any further up and you don't get a balcony. We got a great price for the week which included breakfast and found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The only fault would be the decor in the room could be spruced up but Malta is so nice you don't spend much time indoors. I would definitely go back just for the view alone

I booked this on booking.com and did not pay until we arrived, it was a great price and to be honest I was not expecting much, but it really exceed our expectations, really friendly and helpful staff, great location, will be using this hotel again.

Room Tip: Sea view would be the best, we did not have one, but at breakfast it looked out over the sea, so I would go for a sea view.
