We have just returned from a trip to the Victoria Hotel where we spent 8 days found the hotel very comfortable and excellent service , the staff were very friendly and helpful very good breakfast and also a buffet dinner. My husband & I were also upgraded when they heard we were celebrating our anniversary. They have a lovely roof top pool and also an indoor pool on the 7th floor and we hope to return for another visit. I know the hotel is located a short walk from the waterfront but there are a few roads that are not as hilly for people with lesser mobility which the hotel were keen to tell us about as my husband would have found some roads quite steep.

Room Tip: I think most rooms have balconies and we were to the front which we didn't find noisy

Stayed here with my wife for 6 days in April, 2 days on business and the rest holiday. The Victoria is a quality classic hotel with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The room was large and comfortable, expecially the bed which was enormous and one of the most comfortable we've had in any hotel. We weren't sure initially whether we would like a buffet evening meal, but in fact these turned out to be excellent (and reasonably priced) and we ate in the hotel in the Copperfields restaurant every evening.
The location of the hotel was very good for us as it is central in Sliema and just a short walk in either direction to the waterfront areas. From the waterfront, you can easily get a bus to Valletta or the Sliema-Valletta ferry which crosses the harbour in a few minutes. Bus tours and cruises also run from the waterfront.
We will probably visit Malta again and if so would definitely be happy to stay at the Victoria again.

Organised a family reunion at The Copperfield Sunday lunch buffet at The Victoria Hotel in Sliema towards the end of April. We were a group of 33 people. The food variety was just right and not bombastic. The food was cooked with care and everyone enjoyed it. The service was super and the staff were very helpful. This made the annual gathering a success.

Great location for getting to and from Valetta and catching boats, close to shops and restaurants. Food pleantiful but not of standard expected for hotel of this type. Staff very helpful and attentive, rooms large and comfortable. Would use again but on no meal basis. Roof terrace with fine views.

This was our second stay at the Victoria. As before we had a junior suite but this time it was on the fifth floor from which it was possible to see the sea.The room was very spacious and comfortable and whilst I would like to give full marks in all the rating categories I feel it would be disingenuous so to do.
The reason for only 3 star for cleanliness stems from build up of mould in the corners of the bathroom and underneath the taps which required a little more care with cleaning the area together with attention to detail which would solve this problem.
Four stars for location derives from the fact that which ever way you go on leaving the hotel an up hill walk has to be negotiated to return. Not severe by any means but residents with minor mobility problems may find the location a concern.
Whilst the rooms are very good, some of the furniture is looking a bit ,well used, which may add to the overall ambience for some, irritation for others.
The greatest area of concern for us was the buffett breakfast. The cereals and fruit were excellent but the main course items were very poorly presented and the quality and preparation was not as it should be.I would single out the bacon, boiled eggs, fried eggs in particular for criticism. The toasting equipment was all but useless and following the failure of the semi commercial equipment two new looking domestic toasters appeared which clearly were not up to the task and caused much good natured frustration.
The staff,as usual were outstanding, nothing too much trouble for them and they really appeared to enjoy being helpfull and friendly.
Having said all that we would be more than happy to return and would continue to recommend the Victoria to all those who seek a comfortable and good value hotel to stay at in Malta.

We stayed for 12 days just after Easter. Although a bit early in the summer season the weather was warm and sunny so the hotel opened the rooftop pool. The water was a bit chilly at first but refreshing and swimming in an infinity pool on the rooftop was an experience not to be missed! The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, food good and plentiful, room comfortable and we were well looked after. The tea making facilities were very much appreciated. The hotel will be even better when they have completed modernising the lifts. We noticed that this is a hotel that Maltese people use, so that is always a good sign...

Although being on the top of the hill might be a drawback from some less mobile, the location is very good for the bus network and the ferry to Valetta (and boat trips).

Room Tip: Rooms on the 7th floor have a rooftop view of the sea or Sliema harbour.

It is a it of a tiered 4 star hotel. Some of the amenities you would expect are not there but overall this is very good value for money. You are sharing a roof terrace with swimming pool with a 5 star hotel and this gives it the competitive edge. The rooms are big but a bit old, the aircon is loud so we got it switched off, the breakfast is ok. Location is vey good and parking is only 2 Euro.
