I have just recently come back after a week stay with 2 friends. We absolutely adore the hotel! The Spa room was devine, which had a spiral staircase to the roof which lead onto our own PRIVATE pool - so you need never leave your room if you didn't want to. We also had a Jacuzzi behind the bed with beautiful LED lighting (great for couples). The bathroom was spaceous, with a separate shower area, toilet area and main bathroom (great for friends or couples sharing) as there was no need to fight for bathroom time. Our view overlooking the pool was beautiful, especially at night when it was all lit up.
Also the dining experience was great! choice of restaurants such as Mediterranean, thai, chinese, italian and the Indian was one of the BEST Indian meals i have had.
All staff were friendly, helpful and our room was reguarly cleaned and we had fresh towels delivered all the time.
The spa treatments are definitely worth a look, i had a facial and lava shell massage and it was heavenly. I can not fault this hotel, i have even made arrangements to go back in August!

From the moment we touched down in Malta, I knew we were going to have a good three days. It was a well deserved last minute trip for me and my friend to recover from a ridiculously hectic few weeks at work and all we wanted was to flop in a nice hotel and book lots of spa treatments to recover. When we checked in, we were told we had been allocated a spa bedroom which was just brilliant - we've stayed in lots of 5* hotels over the years but I've never seen anything like it. To call it a bedroom just doesn't do it justice - it was more of a suite, with sofa areas, 2 TV's a massive bathroom with loads of spa treatments in the room and the finishing touch - a Jacuzzi behind the bed!

There are so many brilliant things about this hotel - firstly, the best all inclusive I've ever been to. Forget lukewarm buffets - in this hotel you actually just dine in one of the many restaurants from around the world and just flash your room card as payment. I did see other people paying and there were prices on all the menus so it looks like you can pay for either options.

The pools were great- the swim-up bar being a particular highlight, but the best thing was the spa - a world away from our busy lives and the ultimate in relaxation.

We booked in for lava shell massages and facials and took some time out of the sun to go into the Spa Sante, which is a series of experiences in the calm, modern surroundings of the complex. All the staff were excellent and the lava shall massage is hand on heart the best massage I've ever had.

If you're looking for a luxury holiday in friendly, beautiful surroundings then I'd definitely recommend it. The spa is amazing and you will come out feeling like a million dollars.

Just as a side note - the hotel is only about 25 mins from the airport in a car, which is great if you've got kids, or if you've just jumped off a night flight and are in need of a catch up sleep!

Spent 1 week at the Fortina Spa resort for my 40th birthday. On arrival (lunchtime) was told that our room would not be ready until 2pm, which was not great, however they told us that they had upgraded us to a spa bedroom which was prompting the wait. I did not mind waiting so went to the valletta buffet restaurant for some lunch and a drink which was reasonable in the quality. Our room was great, very large and the jacuzzi bath had lovely LED lighting which was very romantic. The room faced the pool which meant that we were not disturbed at night from the road traffic. We were on an all inclusive basis involving the dine around the world restaurants which again was fab. I cant stand half board/all inclusive that involves buffet meals only as i prefer to order my meals and have a proper restaurant experience which is impossible in buffet restaurants as you end up eating your meals in record time. Our favourite was taste, followed by the chinese/thai, the italian was ok. Unfortunately the japanese and indian are not part of the all inclusive deal but you can eat there for a 25% discount. The staff were fine but i accept they are not very forthcoming with information regards what you can and cannot have which resulted in us having to check the 1st couple of days everytime we ordered a drink or something to eat. The fortina has apparently stopped the all inclusive for future bookings and we asked several staff why but they either did not know or had been told not to tell guests why. It seems a shame as i would very much doubt that i would pay to stay here on anything other than all inclusive as the food and drinks are quite expensive. The pool area in the 5 star around the island bar is lovely but is far too small, not enough sun beds or umbrellas which in 34 degree heat is an absolute must. This resulted in us using the 4 star fortina lido area which requires some money spending on it as it is looking very tired. Also there was alot of children in this area as it is open to non residents also. Lovely views of valletta from the lido though. Overall really enjoyed our stay but free upgrade to a spa bedroom did help but i would recommend this hotel to friends/family. Had 3 treatments in the spa which was heavenly.

Room Tip: ask for an free upgrade to a spa room if not offered one .

Dear bobelinos,

We would like to thank you for posting your feedback on this website. We are always trying to bette rour service to our guests and therefore appreciate all the feedback possible. We are delighted to learn that you enjoyed your Spa Bedroom experience and also our Spa. Please note that the La Vallette Restaurant forms part of the four star Hotel Fortina and that Check-In is at 2pm and therefore, we cannot guarantee that rooms will be ready for guests to check into before this time. We do however, try our utmost to have the rooms ready before this time.

The All Inclusive package has been put on hold until further notice. This was a Management decision based on demand. We hope to see you again in the future!

Kind regards,
Fortina Spa Resort team

I recently visited this lovely hotel, as I had been recommended too and I find word of mouth by trusted friends is the best kind of recommendation.
My main reason for visiting was to see a good dentist and having a rather big procedure done in a beautiful environment and being able to rest and recuperate was key for me.
I'm due to visit again at the end of the month for a check up and I can't wait!
The dentist and dental work was/is fabulous and I'm looking forward to having a holiday there too. Great food, nice Staff and the best Spa facilities.
See you all soon.

The en suite rooms in the 5* were excellent, clean, modern and luxurious with a fabulous view of Valletta. The room service was excellent. The hotel facilities are superb, from dining to swimmimg etc, Sliema is excellent for wandering around and for shopping. The receptionist/concierge need to be better informed regarding the facilities that are available with the holiday package as this latterly caused a problem but was politely dealt with and sorted by the staff.
Malta is one of the safest places in the world to visit and a joy to explore.
I always stay at the Fortina as it never fails to please.
