The Plaza & Plaza Regency Hotels
Ranked #14 of 28 Hotels in Sliema

It's my mistake, I know, but even though I was only here for one night the room needed a balcony. Much like the inside cabins on a ship, rooms without a balcony are no good - and seemed very small.
Breakfast €4 Dinner €9 (July 14) the buffet was ok at both breakfast and dinner but there are plenty of places to eat close by so plenty of choice - but they do play the local dance radio station in the dining room which I felt intrudes on my dining. When I visited the hotel was full if teenagers in groups who made a noise late into the evening and early in the morning. More expensive rooms in the Plaza Regency block next door with balconies may take you away from this. If the price was right I'd come back.

Hotel was ok the room was big and cleaned daily with fresh towels, everything else was pretty average the entertainment was poor and the reception staff as you walked in weren't very friendly and never said goodbye or goodmorning, goodevening once in the 7 days we were there. the indoor pool was closed still but the otherdoor one was open which is on the roof was open which was nice, the bar area is ok too.

the food was ok nothing special some of the main dishes which I think were about 3 everyday were burnt or not very appetising but they have a good salad and pasta collection so If I didn't fancy the main food which was quite a bit I just had pasta and salad.

breakfast was fine many cerals to choose from and normal English and contintental breakfast, minor gripe here is that the streaky bacon had bits of grizzle and wasn't very nice and then you have 2 machines for hot drinks and cold drinks.

overall if you are the type of person that comes to malta to see the country and doesn't mind a suitable albeit average hotel this is for you.

Room Tip: breakfast is on the 6th floor, bar area on the 7th floor,

hotel is split plaza regency and plaza we stayed in plaza. there was 3 of us my husband and i and 17 year old son, room was quite big bathroom massive had a bath and separate shower unit and hairdryer, room also has in little kitchen unit fridge kettle pots pans plates and so on it was nice to have a fridge to keep cool drinks and milk for a nice cuppa. we were on the 4th floor with a sea view and lovely long balcony, safe in wardrobe E2.50 per day, also iron and ironing board, the room was cleaned everyday beds made and towels changed. could only get wifi in the hotel foyer and you had to pay for this but my son could not live without this !! but when you finish using every time switch off as sometimes carries on using your minutes. we were b&b and we all loved the breakfasts either cereal or continental or fry up and usually a piece of fruit. we ate once in the restaurant for evening meal you can get a voucher from reception for E8.50 you got a free drink then we had soup then some salad then roast dinner and pudding good value. if you not bothered about doing coach trips just get yourself a weekly bus ticket E6.50 and you can use all over the island we used this a lot. used the pool on the roof a couple of times bit cold for me but still went in, there is an indoor pool which is closed and i think they should open as it is filled with water and some people prefer indoor pools. Reception staff were always helpful and answered anything we need to know. if you want to buy any food there is a little supermarket round the corner left out of hotel by traffic lights turn left and you will see it,very friendly. loved Malta and cant wait to go back

Room Tip: we had room 434 overlooking st julians fantastic view

this was our third stay at the plaza hotel and again we had a fabulous room with a fabulous sea view .we had a superior room which includes tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge .
The room was cleaned every day and we received fresh towels daily. The reception staff were helpful and welcoming. Only downside to the hotel was the wifi is expensive but loads of local restaurants ans bars offer this free you only have to ask for the password. The breakfast is full English and continental .Don`t know about evening meal as ate out every night ,there are numerous places to eat nearby .Buses are cheap but can be packed . Hopefully will return to this fabulous island next year and will be staying at the plaza as it makes a great base between st julians and sliema .

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are road facing so if you are a light sleeper may not be your best option but...

The position is good, between sliema and s.julians, But the hotel is at very low standards, not clean, dirty bathroom, room with no window (a small window with the view of the adjacent building wall).
I had to call the desk twice, once for the pillows they had no cases, and the second time the bathroom had no towels. The room cleaning is badly organized and timed ! Not to mention when i was in the bathroom and two women came in to do inventory ?!?

We stayed for a week at Easter on half board and paid extra for an upgraded room. The room on the fourth floor was brilliant, clean and spacious with a good size fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a fantastic view. The restaurant served a varied selection of meals and room service was also available. Everyone took towels from their rooms to the sun terrace and these were changed daily. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the holiday so much we returned 5 weeks later for another week and had another superb room on the 4th floor of the Plaza Regency. We can only thank the manager and his team for yet another great holiday in Malta.

The location is superb, in sliema s.julian bay, maybe The best area you can stay in malta, but The hotel is under The european city standard, not so clean, poor quality breakfast, dirty water, not kind staff, good position, very good price, very big rooms. I hope to find something better if i will come back in this nice island.
