“Great friendly hotel”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

We spent 8 nights at this hotel early in May this year and were very pleased with our experience. As it was a late booking we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel but this suited us as it was very peaceful with no traffic noise. The air conditioning, was, unusually, very quiet at night and our sleep was never interrupted. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.

The buffet breakfast was first class, with the bonus of wonderful views of Sliema Creek and Valletta from the terrace restaurant. The Marina is directly opposite the Sliema boat and ferry terminals and in the middle of a large number of pavement restaurants stretching along the promenade.

The stay started with being put in an extremely small, dirty room with a window into a ventilation shaft. It smelled like McDonalds, due to the location between a McDonalds and a Burger King. Two of the group was placed in a room with only one bed, even if we booked the hotel 6 months in advance. They didn't have another room before the next day.. After a bit of a discussion, the manager could find another room, so that everyone recieved a bed each.
The staff was not very helpful, but the girls in the reception were quite pretty.
The breakfast was a tiny buffet, but the view from the 8th floor was perfect.

Room Tip: If you really want to stay here, get a room with a sea view. It's the only good thing about the...

The hotel is very central.Lots of restaurants both sides of the hotel. Our room was very spacious
and clean.we were on floor 7.which although you have views to die for,you are underneath the hotel restaurant, and it is very noisy from 6.30am onwards, with chairs and tables getting moved around for breakfasts.Staff were lovely and very helpfull, pleasant at all times.
Just dont reccomend floor 7.The scenery from the balcony fantastic.Malta definatly the place to go
especially,if you enjoy,history and architecture.

Room Tip: Trey floor 6.

Stayed here for one week , the hotel is pretty much what it says on the tin.
It has to be one of the best locations, just across the road from the water front.
We had know issues in the hotel, the only thing was the noise out site, jet washing the pavements at 2am.
The only thing the hotel could in prove on is supplying tea and coffee in the room.

We arrived at the Sliema Marina Hotel to check in and for our surprise the manager could not find our reservation (which had been made three months in advance ) . When the manager found it , he said that unfortunately the room was in trouble and he would transfer us to another hotel of the same network, just for a night . he said that on next the day we could come back and on behalf of all the disorder , he would give us an upgrade in our Sliema Marina Hotel reservation.
We went to the hotel indicated - Sliema Chalet Hotel .
Arriving at the Sliema Chalet Hotel the Chalet Hotel's manager informed us that the room which was assigned for us was not clean and we would have to wait 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes we entered into the room and discovered that the room was under renovation ( in the balcony overlooking the sea , was filled with scaffolding ) , the beds were single ( we had requested double beds) and in addition, the access to internet was not free at this hotel, something that was at Sliema Marina Hotel!
When we booked for Sliema Marina Hotel , we requested a double room and the internet access in the room was free of charge. The Marina Sliema Hotel , by disorganization , sent us to another hotel for only one day , saying that the hotel was on the same network and that the room available, would be on the same level at which we booked .
We complained and they moved us to another room. This time ,the room was not under renovation , but instead, the room passed blackout light from time to time, disabling any type of electrical equipment.
The next day , we returned to Sliema Marina Hotel to check in and when we walked into our room we noticed that we had not had any upgrade in the booked room and for our disappointment the room was not as described in the website!
Conclusion , we stayed 5 days at the Sliema Marina Hotel and 1 day at the Sliema Chalet Hotel . Those were the worst hotels we have ever stayed in! Including cleaning service (did not change bed sheets and towel) , customer service (always in bad mood) and not reliable.
we do not recommend those hotels if you want to have a nice and peaceful staying in Sliema.

I just returned from a 10 days vacation in Malta. It is still an unknown place for many but very fast is coming to the attention.
The hotel is located in the very best and central place in Sliema. You have access to everything, buses, boats, restaurants. The views to Valetta are astonishing. It is a true 3 stars hotel but worth spending a few days.
The staff is exceptional will do anything to make you feel comfortable. Even is more expensive get a sea view room. If you travel a lot don’t… You have many exceptional sites to visit in Malta, Comino, Gozo. Undoubted you will fell in love with Malta.

Room Tip: If you don’t like the room the staff will do anything to accommodate everyone, the twin rooms are la...

I'm an experienced traveler, and had been to many different hotels. This was one of the worst experiences. The room was modern and the view of the sea was great, but the walls in this hotel were so thin, my husband an I could hear everything our neighbors were doing. The noise would wake us up in the middle of the night and early in the morning. Although the staff was nice, it couldn't compensate for the noise.

We will not go back.
