“Excellent staff”
Reviewed 23 September 2012

Have just returned from a weeks AI with my two adult daughters. I was not impressed with the room we were given having requested( and paid for) a Quad room so we had plenty of space we were given a triple and were told no other room available and anyway the cost of triple and Quad the same ( it isnt as have checked on Hotel website !). As many other reviewers have stated some of the Hotel rooms need refurbishment, sanitary wear very old and cracked, some towels tatty (but not all).We needed to have our Patio doors and air-con fixed and to be fair it was seen to immediately. Rooms cleaned daily . Restaurant had quite cramp seating arrangements but overall the food was very satisfactory. Beach Club facilities and staff was very good. Hotel is set in great location for access to shopping, eating out and trips. There were Italian students staying but they weren't a problem and hotel staff handled them extremely well. For us the best part of the experience was the wonderful hardworking staff ,especially Charles and Tomas although to be fair everyone was really friendly and helpful. They are why I have given the Hotel a 4.
Would I go again possibly yes but if I knew it had been refurbished definitely yes !

Have just returned from an all inclusive week at this hotel and enjoyed the stay very much. The staff was so helpful as on one occasion the bedside lamps would not work but this was rectified within the hour. The food was excellent and the restaurant staff was politeness itself. To be greeted by Charles and Mark was a pleasure as they made us feel so welcome. Hotel itself could do with being refurbished and attention to the towels is recommended as they were well worn with light patches (maybe bleach). Overall this hotel is a good one and ideally situated to the promedade and shops

Well done all the staff.

Room Tip: The room we had on the 4th floor was spacious and kept scrupulously clean,

Just got back yesterday, had a lovely stay here. Even though we were placed in an alternative hotel for three nights (Bay View) because there had been a maintenance issue, when we came back I found the staff were very friendly and helpful, the location brilliant and above all the food the best I've had in a hotel overseas.

Room Tip: I did hear someone complain that thir room was too small and they were told that they couldnt move f...

We went on a one week all inclusive holiday to this hotel in August 2012.

Unfortunately throught my stay I was suffering from extremely painful toothache but had a great time .

My only complaint was the state of the towels which were provided each day. These looked like rejects from a hair salon and looked like they had previously been used to dye hair, due to the mottled patches of lighter colour on everyone of them each day.
As
I am sure they were clean bur they just did not look good but this was my only real complaint.

The only other moan was that the bar in the hotel had no atmosphere. The Beach Cub was great.

We spent a week all inclusive in August and agree not 5* at all but what it lacks in luxury more than makes up with wide variation of good food, clean room, great location and fabulous staff. The pool area was close and again good food with friendly helpful staff, would not hesitate to go back keep up the good work

Just returned from an 11 night half board holiday at the Plevna Hotel having had a super time. This is a good 3* hotel, if you are expecting 5* luxury you will be disappointed but if you want a very clean hotel with good accommodation, excellent staff and a superb location in the centre of Sliema then the Plevna is for you! It is only a few minutes walk to anywhere in Sliema (including The Point shopping centre, buses and ferries and a number of good bars). We had planned on hiring a car for a few days but the parking around the hotel is a nightmare - there isn't any! - a 7 day bus pass more than compensated. Having spent a number of holidays in large hotels in Spain we have been spoilt by restaurant buffets with huge amounts of choice and were initially a little concerned at somewhat limited offerings in the restaurant, however, we needn't have worried, we enjoyed all our meals immensely and could always find something to suit from the selection available. To be honest it is a little inconvenient not to have a swimming pool at the hotel but the very pleasant beach club was only a couple of minutes away. The bar there provides great, low cost lunches, just a shame that half-board guests have to pay extra for sunbeds. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor with (very small) balconies. The rooms were nicely furnished and kept extremely clean by the daily maid service. There were a large number of Italian students staying at the hotel while we were there but fortunately we did not find we were disturbed by them at all. Undoubtedly, the major plus of this hotel is the friendliness and level of service provided by the staff. Our thanks in particular to Charles and Mark who made our stay a memorable one and are both worth their weight in gold!! We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Plevna and are somewhat surprised by some of the more negative reviews - as always, you get what you pay for and over all this hotel provides excellent value for money.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor and had no Italian students near us so it was very quiet but that may have...

The staff in Plevna is absolutely amazing. There was a reservation mix-up when we arrived late at night, and the hotel was full, but the problem was solved in 10 minutes - we got rooms in a nearby 4* hotel with breakfast, the next morning were presented with a choice of staying in current hotel or moving back to Plevna (and even got a complimentary dinner as compensation). We chose Plevna and didn't regret it one bit. The rooms were nice, breakfast was good, and the staff extremely professional. Ask them for local restaurant recommendations!
