Sometimes one can read reviews and they seem to embellish it too much that when you arrive you are disappointed. I can say that this is a good 2-3 star hotel and is good value for the money. The rooms were on the small side and the washroom could have used some upgrades such as a vent or window. Also the toilet was very cramped so it was snug when you sat down. The room had no luggage rack and the comforters on the bed were quite thin so we had to ask for extra blankets because it was still cool in April. They were right when it mentioned that the hotel was popular with school kids. There's a lot of them and can be noisy late at night until they settle down. The hotel did a good job in keeping them away from the regular hotel patrons at breakfast so we were grateful about that. Breakfast was very good and had a lot of selections. The distance to the water is about a block but if you want to go to the Selima Ferries it's a good long 3 block walk up then downhill or you can take a bus as well. After all this I would still recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: I would suggest taking a room in the upper floors as it got noisy near street level in the early morning. Note that the elevator is extremely small, enough for 1 person and 2 luggage.

Value for money hotel. Lovely reception area .Clean rooms etc. Good food for the price paid. Dreadful views from cheaper rooms. School parties of excitable children do not mix with older holiday makers. Difficult times for hotels but think more needs to be done to separate two very different types of traveller.

On the plus side the pool is very nice altho a short walk from the hotel. The sixth floor roof garden is quiet but could be enhanced. Staff really try to do everything possible to make your stay comfortable.

Room Tip: Not overlooking the back of the Hotel. A room as far away as possible from groups of school parties.

hotel was absolutely lovely, beautiful purple and white decor. We were warned of school children staying there which was fine and the room more than made up for it. We ended up there because the hotel we were staying at (reviewed elsewhere) wasn't good enough. The only thing making this short of excellent rating was the problem of the walls being paper thin, so when cleaning commenced at the crack of dawn, the cleaners scraped the beds across the tiled floor and the noise was really intrusive. They (and this is not necessarily a bad thing!) spent ages cleaning a room. Also we were near the lift and every time someone used it including for cleaning purposes at 6am we heard the clunk every time it hit each floor. apart from that, the receptionist was brilliant, remembered us well, night porter fantastic and hotel itself lovely.

Room Tip: get a room away from the lift. We looked at 210(?) which was awesome. We stayed in room 510(?) which had two outside walls and a balcony.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Blackpool b&b's at £25 per night are of a higher standard.

We stayed in room 518.

The furniture was very tired looking and the floor was worn away in parts.
The bathroom looked like a 70's reject, thankfully we showered before arriving at the hotel so were using it literally as somewhere to sleep after a night out in Sliema.
Would not recommend and would not stay there again.
The saving grace was breakfast, it was actually quite nice.
