Stayed again this year after having an enjoyable holiday last time. Clean, modern (for malta), friendly staff , good sized rooms and smallish rooftop pool with fantastic views. Great choice at breakfast as previous reviewer has stated. The one problem we encountered was the the aircon in the room broke at 10.30pm, at which point the manager came up and insisted we move to an ajacent room which was made up for us straight away, and the aircon was fixed next day.If that's not good service I don't know what is!!

Having booked the holiday last october, and seeing more good reviews than bad, i was'nt disppointed when we arrived. The lobby and bar area were very clean, Adam and a another receptionist (forgot her name) were very helpful. I had booked an front facing sea view room for my husband, my daughter and myself, the room was huge, we had two balconies and the view was lovely. My mother came with us and had the room right next door, also lovely. With regarding some comments on coat hangers, on reading brochure if you wanted more they would give u some. We had rooms on the 4th floor and to be quite honest didnt hear much road noise.

Regarding dinner time, please might sure that GENTLEMAN HAVE LONG TROUSERS or Anna will tell you to change, Anna and Marion we lovely people, regarding food, the only thing i can say about the service was that apart from the last night only one chef was serving so sometimes took a bit of time, food was beef, veal, gammon, fish pasta etc....NO CHIPS.

The rooftop swimming pool was a nice, food bar nice, had chicken fillet burger with salad and chips for 5.00 euros.

Lots of restaurants and bars along slimea and up all round, well named brand shops, right out side is Captain Morgan boat trips...very popular. If you have never been to Malta i am afraid that you missed the lovely old buses, now a new bus service is new starting from July, went to beach one day and waiting for over an hour and it turned up full, did manage to get on but spent neary an hour standing. Had a really good time and would certainly go back to the hotel.

We returned to the Waterfront for the 3rd time in August. Unfortunately our flight from the UK was very early and we arrived at the hotel at 11am to be told that our room would not
be available until 2pm. My husband asked if the room could be priorotised for cleaning
after the previous guests vacated at 12am as we were vey tired having been up since
2am. We were told in no uncertain terms by Sylvia on reception that this would not be
possible so we had a very long wait without even an offer of a drink from the hotel. We
were then given the wrong room despite requesting a room away from the front of
the building and gave the hotel 2 months notice of the request. We moved rooms
the following day. Following this disappointing and stressful start to the holiday we
again enjoyed our stay at the Waterfront. The location of the hotel is great with easy
access to boats ferries buses etc. Overall the food is good although lacks some
imagination. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Malta overall is great value for
money - much cheaper than most other eurpoean destinations.

Room Tip: High floor, sea view away from the front of the hotel which suffers from traffic noise

We arrived early morning 3rd of August. Reception was very efficient and very helpful.
I have a skin condition that requires a room with a bath for the meds to work their best.
The room we were given was a shower room and not conducive to meds application.
Went to reception and explained the problem and they found us a room with bath and even moved the luggage for us when we were out enjoying the area. How helpful is that.
Next to the other reviewers :

We would recommend this hotel to anybody with the only down side being the small pool area however the view was great.

Close to shopping in neigbouring Sliema this nice hotel is a perfect location. Rooms are nicely decorated in blue and white. I missed WiFi in the room though.

Friday's BBQ by the pool on the roof terrace is a must. Half board is not to recommend unless you like standard dining.

The hotel is rated as a 4*, but I think it should be rated as a 3*.
The reception area is very clean and well maintained, and the staff at reception are very friendly. We arrived just after midnight, and with it being 29 degrees ouside were looking forward to air conditioned rooms, unfortunatly my rooms AC was not working. After a few calls, and staff coming to the room, I was supplied with a fan, as the maintenance staff are only available during the day!! The problem was eventually fixed after 3 days!! by a card being permanently placed in the power slot, therefore the AC was on all the time, which was a very welcome relief. (just a note: there are AC sensors on the patio doors which can be a problem if they are not working properly, which after talking to other guests, seemed to be a very common problem.)
We were on a B&B basis, the breakfast food was very basic, but with the temperatures in the high 30's every day, I can't imagine eating a cooked breakfast anyway...
The roof terrace: The pool was nice, not too large, but it was never overly full. It was always windy on the roof terrace, therefore some days the umberellas could not be put up, but out of our 7 day stay this only happened once. The pool bar was very nice, and the food was the same as the coffee shop near the lobby. But sometimes you did have to wait a while for a member of staff to get served. One thing I did notice was there was what appeared to be soot on the floor, and round the edge of the pool, which may have been coming from the vents on the roof.
I did find most of the staff extremely helpful and friendly.
The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, and you can acess most of the island by catching a bus, with stops very close to the hotel. Also the water taxi to Valetta is a short walk away (but if you don't like walking up a steep hill and lots of steps, I would recommend that you catch a bus to valetta, and then the water taxi back).
I would recommend taking the opportunity to go on some of the tours that are on offer, but go on them early in your stay, as you don't spend a great deal of time in one place on the tours, so then if you want to go back via a bus you have the opportunity to do so.
I hope this helps people travelling to The Waterfront and Sliema.

Room Tip: Try and request a higher floor room, probably 5 to 7, as the hotel in on a main road.

The waterfront is very central. The bus stops are about 200yards away. The ferry boat to visit the capital Valetta is also about 200yards away. The hotel has very good friendly and helpful staff. It is spotless clean and has very good buffet breakfasts. Rooms are very comfortable with those on the front having fantastic sea views. Bus passes are good value 6.50euros for week.

Room Tip: worth paying extra for seaview rooms. Good views room 208/209 308/309 408/409 all corner rooms.
