“Great value for the mony”
Reviewed 12 September 2011

Nice and quiet apartment, thou situated just a block from the baywalk.
Maybe not the best view (a dirty backyard, but you don't have to look down, do you?) :-)
Nice and friendly staff. Cleaning almost every day.
Liked it alot.

This was our second time in Malta but our first in Sliema. As we were only there for 4 days it was an ideal location for touring Valetta and Malta. We stayed in a Bayview apartment, which was a block away form the actual hotel. Like the hotel, the apartment was on the Strand overlooking the promenade and bay with great views across to Valetta. The hotel is efficient and seemed to be exceptionally busy with guests of all ages and nationalities. There is a small outdoor pool and kiddies pool and indoor pool on the roof. There are free sunbeds and towels. Ideal for a break from sightseeing as there is no beach near Sliema. There was also a gym (not used) We had breakfast in the hotel and it was of a good standard. A different variety of cooked eggs, bacon etc each morning and also continental fare. The dining room was bright, clean and welcoming and with efficient staff.
The apartment was large and well equipped. Ideal for a long stay as it had a kichenette with fridge, oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. The large lounge had room for a single bed, as well has a dining area and sitting area. There was a TV (access arranged through hotel reception but we didn't use it) The bedroom had a kingsize bed, 3 double wardrobes, dresser, Iron and ironing board and access to a small balcony at the back with a washing machine(not used) and clothes line, handy for washing a few things, which were dry by the morning. Only odd thing was the bedside lights had round pin plugs but the sockets were square pin! The bathroom had a bath with shower and a separate shower cabinet. Plenty of hot water. Best of all was the large balcony at the front of the apartment overlooking the promenade and Valetta. OK, there was traffic noise below but all part of the experience. Evening firework displays to mark Victory day - fantastic.
The hotel and apartments are convenient to cafes, bars, shops and tours. Would recommend the North Malta Sightseeing tour. Start early, see Valetta, Mdina, then stop for a few hours at a beach before hopping back on and returning via the coast to Sliema. Also, the Harbour Boat trip - very informative. There are small shuttle boats from Sliema to Valetta for 3 euros return. Recommend this instead of the bus service as it takes less time.

Stayed in 2 beds self-catering apartment, Moroni Street (Triq) 5 minutes from hotel block, which seemed full of young adults and couples. Reception staff did not give door code on arrival hence had to wait until someone comes into the building. Spacious and airy, cleaned daily with plenty of towels plus a washing machine. TV channels were good and kept children occupied, Aircon were very good and came with instruction booklet and lighting were plenty. However, everything else is old and dirty, kitchen, bedding, sofa and had cold shower as the hot water boiler was weak in the bathroom. Balcony had walled view.
First day, reported leak under kitchen sink which was not fixed until next evening. Washing machine did not have instruction booklet. Wifi is 3.5E daily, but had to pay for duration of stay. It was not even connected on 1st day. Had to report no internet connection every morning when needed although this is sorted out usually late afternoon. Need to vacate apartment when the maids came to clean. The roof pools are small and shallow 1.3-1.5 m (5 ft). Paid £261 for 5 nights, felt more like an undercover reporter than a guest.
Would not stay here again. This apartment block is not recommended for families or people with mobility issue due to lack of children facilities, apart from pools and very steep hill. Evening entertainment is once a week at the hotel.
The apartment is located near to restaurants, shops, bus stops and bay with nice promenade for walking. It is not near a beach or places of interest, either get the bus or hire a car, not from Budget as they charge 45E for -half tank.

We booked the two bedroom appartment based on reviews on Tripadvisor. The apartment was quite spacious, one of the bedrooms was huge and the other was tiny but they both had ample storage. The larger room was at the back of the apartment and had a small balcony with clothes lines which were handy. The bathroom was a reasonable size and had a washing machine (very welcome) The kitchen was equiped with all the apliances you would need, the living room had a big screen TV , comfortable couches and a small balcony to enjoy the stunning views across the bay. All was reasonably clean, a lady came in each day to clean. The towels were changed each day, beds were made but the sheets were not changed which didn't bother us as we were only there for a week. A bit noisy at night with young people roaming the streets but ok with the window closed. The breakfast in the hotel was excellent, the staff there were great. We would definately recommend these apartments for location and value.

Room Tip: Well worth paying extra for the sea view apartment.

Just back from 2 weeks in Malta with the family. Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at the Bayview. Apartment was a little further from the hotel than I was expecting (two blocks down the road, maybe a 5 min walk) but to be honest of a better quality than expected. You get what you pay for and for a reasonably cheap option it was good. The bedrooms were big with plenty of storage, the living area had two sofas and a TV (not sure which channels as we never turned it on). The kitchen was basic with not much cooking equipment but i had no intention of cooking so that was fine. There was a toaster and kettle, no microwave but the fridge worked well which was all we needed. The shower was not the best but there was plenty of very hot water and the maid changed the towels every day so we managed. The apartment has 3 balconies none with a view as it was up a side street but they were good enough for drying the swimming/scuba gear. You only had to walk 2 mins to the sea front for a fantastic view anyway. The hotel pool was small but okay to have a dip to cool down and the views from up there were fantastic, looking over the bay to Valletta. Didn't eat or drink in the hotel so couldn't comment on any of that but the staff were all friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great two weeks and for the price we paid would be happy to go back to the Bayview.

The hotel service was very courteous and accommodating. The 2 bedroom apartment was clean, spacious and we had a beautiful view of the bay from our balcony. Location was excellent. Bus stop right outside the front door. Many stores and restaurants along the coastal walkway. Apartment was fully equipped with all kitchen necessities.

Inexpensive, very clean, great airconditioning, good position.

We stayed in the apartment block about 5 mins walk from the hotel. Very clean, very good aircon (very welcome in August), friendly and helpful staff, great views from rooftop pool over to Valetta and Manoel island. Absolutely no faults - would recommend to anyone.
