Stayed here for 9 nights in July and have to say parts of it were distinctly average.
Beautiful roof top swimming pool/bar area. Great staff in the bar by the pool and in the bar by the lobby but terrible service from the main desk. It took 3.5hours and 3 requests just to get an iron and ironing board.
The restaurant upstairs (TemptAsian) does brilliant food but again the service was hit and miss. went there twice and once had amazing service and the other simply terrible and took over 3 hours for dinner.
The rooms are clean, nice and spacious but lots of fittings are broken, the shower decides what temperature it will be not you and our room was rarely serviced before 4pm.
Having stayed in Malta on many previous occasions there are comparable and probably better value for money 4* hotels around and certainly better 5* hotels.

Room Tip: many of the rooms will have no view but i guess they will make you pay for a room with a view

A very nice hotel, very friendly staff, decent rooms and good food and I cannot say there was anything wrong. I must say, having used 5 star hotels in several countries I would call this more of a 4 star than 5 when comparing them, but The Palace was a very nice place.

Room Tip: Rooftop restaurant is well worth a visit but try to get their 3 meal deal as it is well worth the sa...

I have just returned from a holiday to Malta staying at The Palace from 14th July to 21st July. It was a fantastic hotel with the most wonderful staff. The hotel pool deck was great. I can honestly say I have never been to a cleaner swimming pool than the pool at The Palace. It was spotless! I could have spent the whole holiday chilling by the pool. The views over Valletta and Sliema were amazing from the roof both day and night.

The Palace was an exceptionally clean and modern hotel. The rooms are very spacious and the beds were just great. The room I stayed in was overlooking the front entrance on the 2nd floor. This did not pose any problems even through the church bells did ring on a regular basis. The only criticism I would make would be the air conditioning in the rooms. I felt it wasn't cold enough at the lowest setting and it was rather loud when trying to sleep.

We stayed bed and breakfast in the hotel. The food at breakfast time was good and the staff were very attentive.

Again I just want to say how wonderful the staff were and we were treated like royalty for the week we stayed. Nothing was too much for the staff. They helped with everything from sorting Wi-fi to advising us on good restaurants in Sliema. One member of staff even helped to carry a pack of 6 2 litres bottles of water to my room after watching me struggle with it to the lift!

If I return to Malta I will not hestiate to stay at The Palace!

I write this review on behalf of my parents, who stayed at The Palace while on a holiday in Malta. They just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff for looking after them so well. They had a fantastic room with a great balcony and view and everything about this hotel was perfect. It is rare to find a hotel with such high standards in Malta - anyone choosing to stay at The Palace we are sure will have a great stay. Thanks again - sorry parents dont have access to a computer!!

We stayed at the the Palace hotel for 4 nights and it was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and very comfortable. We flew with Ryanair from Bristol so the plane got into malta at 10.30am. I e-mailed the hotel to arrange a taxi which cost us 22 Euro each way. I understand buses are cheaper but the taxi only took about 10-15 mins. We checked in but couldn't use our room until 2pm however they have luggage storage and we could have used the hotel facilities straight away if we wanted to.

We decided to go straight out for a wonder around the town and down to the harbour which is about a 5 min walk. We got straight on the Captain Morgan harbour cruise which was a lovely intro to the surrounding area and took about 1 hour and a half for 12 euro each, so i would recommend this if you arrive early. After that we went back to the hotel and our luggage was already in our room!

The TemptAsia restaurant on the roof was very good and we actually ate there twice. We hand a 2 starters and 2 mains and a bottle of wine both times and it came to about 50 euros which i think is very reasonable considering the surroundings and view. Another good restaurant we went to was l'Artist (ranked 1st on trip advisor in the Sliema area)... this was excellent and would recommend this as well.

Wifi was free in the lobby and bar area.

We really had a good time in Malta and the hotel made the memories extra special

Room Tip: We stayed in room 452. This was at the front of the hotel and didn't have a problem with any noi...

My daughter and I have just stayed for 1 week at the Palace as our first experience of holidaying in Malta. Initial impression of the hotel was how smart it looked nestled within really interesting old Maltese buildings and an impressive church. On entering the hotel the reception area is most impressive, and the welcome from the reception team and duty manager was just as impressive,The staff were very warm and helpful and looking equally smart. We had a deluxe twin room with a large balcony and impressive view from a large balcony in room 743. Little niggles, no full length mirror in the room so area where you could use a plug for hairstraighteners etc was at the back of an elegant desk, so you had to do your hair without any mirror. The bathroom did have a very good hairdryer with a small and large mirror over the sink..
The cleanliness of the room was very good and maintained throughout our stay. the pool area was very impressive with plenty of sunbeds and towels issued on request with a card. the 360 views are absolutely wonderful across to valletta and around the bays, the pool staff were helpful and friendly. We opted for half board, the food in the Tabloid Restaraunt is rich and adventerous, not always to my taste but my daughter tried most foods. It was her birthday whilst we were there and the hotel had arranged a birthday cake for her which was lovely. We found all staff at the Palcae equally courteous and very helpful and after falling in love with Malta, we would certainly choose the Palace hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor room for a good view

Thought we would try this hotel for a couple nights away, the room itself was terrible, the shower head was so dirty and the bath, whilst standing under the shower you could feel the bricks holding it up, i honestly thought the thing was going to break. The walls had mould in parts and plaster falling off them, don't know what the cleaners do in this place but its not cleaning!!
Food, we decided to go the half board option, big mistake, cheap food not even disguised as anything else buffet style, on second day i refused to eat anything as it was so bad and was given the option to choose some from the cafe menu instead, had chicken and cheese baguette, oh my not even chicken breast, just the leftovers from the carcass i think and i only ate half of it, absolutely vile, later on coming back from a walk i couldnt stop being sick!!
Yes some people may think 5 stars is great but that just goes by facilities, and they wernt much better, steam room was not hot enough the pool on the roof ok i suppose.
overall this hotel is rubbish and i have been to much better 3 star places

Room Tip: If u want to choose a good room, find a good hotel this one is no good unless you have no standards...
