VERY comfortable hotel, with very helpful and friendly staff and great facilities. Good buffet breakfasts. Fab views from rooftop pool and restaurant area. Room was very clean and quiet with a huge comfortable bed.

If driving, underground parking is available and convenient... but check your satnav is updated as the one that came with our Avis rental car wasn't and it kept directing us the wrong way up various one-way streets in Sliema. That was Avis' fault, and not the hotel's.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the street, but noise was not a problem.

Sliema is just across the harbour from Valletta which can be reached by frequent ferry €2.80 return. Also has good bus services to the rest of the island (some via Valletta) €1.50 for a day ticket. The hotel is in a quiet part of the town mid way between the two waterfronts, both downhill on the way to them and of course uphill on the way back. Rated 5 star it is more akin to a 4 star hotel elsewhere. Our room was large and well equipped. Bed was huge. Buffet food in the main restaurant and Asian in the restaurant on the top floor with lovely views across to Valletta. Staff are friendly and helpful. Happy to recommend.

Room Tip: Best views from the front of the hotel and from 6th floor and above. However there is a church oppos...

Hey all, 30 something couple here.

Spent a week in this splendid hotel in may 2014. First of all, the service in the hotel is premium. You can basically get what ever you want 24h. The hotel is placed perfectly in the heart of modern Sliema and just a short walk from ferries to the historical walls of Valletta - also close to all boutiques and shops you could want. Even walked to St. Julians - though we took the bus back (which work quite well in Malta got to say) Also the shopping mall at tigne's point is quite near, walked there and back couple of times (with stuff we bought too). Not excactly a perfect place for families with small children though, not alot of activities and lots to see and walk to but less to do and frollick.

The restaurant on the base level (talk of the town cafe?) serves mostly snacks and stuff but still filled our stomach with "regular" 9pm pasta dishes and whatnot. Drinks are frigging awesome, and the service is quite .. mediterranian cool, but not that hospitable all the time. No complaints though.

We had a room on the 8th level (superior roon, most recommended) with a spectacular view over the ocean. The church bells across the street chime every 15 mins, never even noticed - and when I did I thought it was awesome.

Electricity was connected a bit strange to the switches though, had to figure out how to put on just the light sockets that lit either side of the bed and brought electricity to our phone chargers. Beds A+, cleanliness A+ (I left a dirty T-shirt on the room chair on accident and even that was folded nicely on the chair after we came back o.O). Air conditioning? Can't say really, in may the weather was still quite stable and not that hot 24/7 and we didn't even notice it running.

Only annoying thing was the #"¤%¤#% propeller in the bathroom that started running every time you put the light on (the bathroom was "open" so the walls didn't go up to the ceiling .. dunno what's that about?) and oh gosh that AC makes some noise. Could be a good thing for intimate splashing sounds for a newlymet couple but eh, didn't impress us.

9th floor has the infinite pool. Well the pool was closed. (well not closed, but unheated and no pool bar) Not due to us, but because of season. So can't say anything about it, tried to go there though. Water was cool and the bar was closed ><. Must be fantastic from june to august, especially with the view over the city.

Speaking of 9th floor, the best part is yet there - the hotel restaurant. TemptAsian is one of the best restaurants we've ever been in. Starting from the atmosphere and welcomes it's pure bliss. Food is fresh and served well. Best stuff that I got on the whole week trip was the sushi platters we ate from that restaurant (they also serve it downstairs) and freshly picked up from the ocean salmon sashimis just took my tongue away.

Breakfast - great tasting. Just a few items changing (a bit of - there) and the breakfast is mostly consisted of a mixture of continental and english breakfasts. Tough I liked the twitch that the local products made in it in forms of fried vegetables and different sausages. Fried eggs were perfect and I loved the thick slices of bacon. Basic english stuff like beans, and of course juices and stuff. Coffee and tee is served to the table by a distinguished gentleman all the time. I'm not a morning person myself (always went back to bed after breakfast) so I wasted most of it though. Notiable mention: sparkling wine also included (for morning boozers). Not that much of an "Italian" breakfast with sweet stuff but more on the heavy side. Every aspect was included though so no worries.

Had six memorable nights in a five star hotel.

Room Tip: 8th floor. Worth the extra.

The hotel is lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are wonderful, Andrew in particular was really helpful and friendly. Our room was huge and the bed was so comfortable that we slept well and woke up feeling refreshed.
Although the weather was incredibly hot, the air conditioning was perfect. The room was always comfortably cool without being cold and the shower was powerful and easy to use to get the right temperature.
Loved the roof top pools and the poolside bar was great. The cocktails there are definitely worth trying and the food was delicious.
The rooms were kept spotlessly clean each day and they seemed to be able to work without ever being seen, leaving everything tidy and beautifully arranged for our return.
The location of the hotel was perfect, its a brief stroll to the sea and restaurants and handy for trying out the local bus service. We usually hire a car on holiday, but we didn't need to as everything on the Island was a brief bus ride a away.

All in all, a lovely stay with great staff. Would be happy to return.

Room Tip: We were on level 2 in a huge room with a double balcony. No problems with noise but if you're su...

We recently returned from a wonderful week's holiday at the Palace Hotel in Sliema. We can't praise this establishment enough - hotel was wonderful; staff were excellent and extremely friendly and helpful; food was fantastic and the bed was so comfortable (unusual for a hotel). Nothing was too much trouble which meant we had a very relaxing time. Just what we needed. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Only thing to watch - the journey from the airport to the hotel was horrendous, so would highly recommend private transfer!

Room Tip: A high room would be advisable.
