Bad fibes with very good food. Apparently the owner had a bad day, which reflected seriously on the service. He seemed irritated and very pre-occupied with everything but us. The wine that was supposed to accompany the main course came at the end and most questions were answered the shortest way possible. To bad, since the food was well above par.

Prices over the top. Good food (albeit they need to come up with new stuff) but you can get the same quality or better elsewhere (in Valletta) for two thirds of the price which you pay here. If the justification for the high price is the location then I don't get it. Service is always good and very polite. Place is small and you'd be nearly rubbing shoulders with the group next to you but that's also part of the atmosphere. Good selection of wines.

We chose this restaurant from fellow Trip Advisor reports and thank you, folks. The service is friendly but not gushing, the setting beautiful and elegant - they really had polished the glasses -and the menu delightful. Wine list "well thought out" according to Mr R (who is in the wine trade) although at the top end, price wise. Iced nougat pud a bit disappointing after such a good starter and main course (slow cooked pork). One gripe: no tap water, bottled only which kind of goes against my principles.

I have been going to Malta the last five years and every time I go I visit Ambrosia several times- and every time Amrbosia surprises me. The menu changes regularly, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend Ambrosia.

We had pre booked Ambrosia having been told it was best restaurant in town so were extremely disappointed by everything. From the start not being given proper menu - a blackboard that only one could read. Bad lighting, very small table. Overpriced wine. Steak was fatty and an unpleasant sauce. This place is getting by on past history and should do better.
