Food excellent, atmosphere dismal would not recommend to anyone as value for money. This restaurant suffers from poor ambiance this could be improved easily by making it more welcoming.

Dear Drekkly,

many thanks for taking the time to share here on TA your comments of your recent dining experience.

It pleases us that we managed to meet your expectations in terms of food, however reading your comment about the ambiance has brought up the question on whether we should consider some changes in our interiors. At the Phoenicia we do take every guest comment very seriously and constructively so we would like to thank you for that, too.

Despite your disappointment, I do hope you will take the time to visit us again and rest assured I will contact you, should we decide to go ahead with any changes to our interior design.

Sincerely,
Francesco

A real treat in the superb setting of a historic hotel. Met by John Paul the Maitre d, and assistant Dalma the evening was a real treat. Very clean with good amount of space between the tables to ensure private dining. The menu very well balanced. The starters of octupus salad and quail followed by lobster ravioli and calamari as a main was superb. The crepe suzette cooked at the table was a visual display of great skill followed by a tasty end to the evening. For two with wine, water, aperitifies and coffee very good value for 90 euros. For a special evening well worth it.

Dear Simon A,

many thanks for sharing here on TA your comments of your positive dining experience at the Pegasus. Your wonderful words have been shared with both John Paul, Dalma and our Culinary Team and this will, with no doubt, motivate them to continue delighting our guests. It is good to read about the fact that you liked the Crepes Suzette as this is one of the signature dishes of the Restaurant and one of the items we are most proud of.

Should you plan a return visit, please dont hesitate to contact me directly so I may oversee the arrangements personally.

Sincerely,
Francesco

My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary at Pegasus. It was a very pleasant experience. The food was exquisite and delicate and the atmosphere was great and perfect for a romantic dinner. John Paul, our waiter for the night, made us feel speciel and welcome.

Excellent menu, excellent food well present. Not cheap but worth it. The Pegasus is the smaller restaurant in the Hotel Phoencia and thus much cozier. The fish and seafood are excellent The local Maltese wines are very good and reasonably priced.

This is my third year eating in this restaurant set with in a five star hotel, our first visit this year did not live up to the standards I had come to expect. There was along delay between starters which were excellent and the main course, longer than you would have expected even for food cooked to order. The filleted fish was full of bones and the vegetables cold, duty manager summoned explained problem another Main course offered refused, we went on to sweet menu, then chef came out to discuss the problem and the bill was reduced. This is the only time I have had to complain about food in any restaurant I have visited over many years.
Next visit was like chalk and cheese, everything ran smoothly meat and vegetables cooked to perfection and hot, service and timing excellent.
One starter to try is the Granny Smith Pockets an ideal starter of Apple and prawn.
It seems on our second visit things are back to the standard expected from this venue. I will look forward to returning in the future.
