“Wonderful setting, good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2013

Stay here enabled us to enjoy the good food and excellent service by all the staff. But I must comment especially on the Thursday night Maltese Buffet what an excellent selection right through from Anti-pasta to Mains and the joy of the selection of sweets from the sweet selection. You could not have better value for money any where in Valetta. You would need to be very hungrey to try everything so well cooked displayed and replensihed often during the evening. The added bonus of music whilst you diner as to the atmosphere in the resturant .

Will be back next year . Well done all.

“Old Faithful”

The new chef clearly believes in evolution not revolution. This remains the touchstone in fine dining on Malta in elegant surroundings and with excellent service.

“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2013

We have just been at the Phoenix Restaurant in the Phoenicia Hotel, Valletta, Malta. We were a table of 9 and all of us have good things to say about this dining experience. The food was excellent, buffet was varied, the service impeccable, the ambience very chic yet relaxing, and the live background music was very restful and pleasing. We have been to the Phoenix quite a few times before and compliment the management and staff for their consistency.

“Excellent staff!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2012

Went to the Phoenix Restaurant to celebrate hubby's birthday for dinner on a Saturday night. Service excellent from all staff - really recommendable. Food tasted lovely, particularly the warm Maltese bread. Ambience - very romantic, until a group of what we assumed to be business colleagues walked onto the terrace, being rather loud as a large group usually is. Will definitely consider going back :)

“Try the Thursday buffet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2012

We stayed on a B&B basis at the Phoenicia restaurant of which the Phoenix forms part. We weren't too sure about the regular menu at the Phoenix, especially as one of us does not eat meat, and we'd heard that service was very slow. But Thursday night was self service Maltese speciality buffet night , so we gave it a go. It was very good indeed, a huge choice of cold starters including Maltese specialities, and then IN A SEPARATE SERVICE AREA (don't miss it , we nearly did!) a range of hot dishes ( including specialities) and a carvery for those Brits who need a plate of roast meat! And some fabulous desserts ( I think I had three! Well you have to try the local delicacies don't you!)
Compared with other restaurants in town the buffet was not cheap ( 33 euros per head when we were there) but it suited us to eat in the hotel on our last evening, and if it hadn't been blowing a gale we could have dined on the lovely terrace. We felt the cost was worth it.
