beautiful gardens, lots of holiday cats (which is always a bonus in my book) pretty views, lovely fountain. It was a very serene place - great to walk around alone, and have a relax on the bench (and ice creams)

The gardens are beautifully designed with wonderful views across the harbour. The row of canons bears a look, unfortunately we were not there to when they fired but I should imagine it quite something. Definitley worth taking the time for a look.

Pressed for time in Valletta? Wander up to Upper Barrakka for an incredible view of the Grand Harbour to the Three Cities. Full of flowers (smells amazing) and benches to relax on, Upper Barrakka also has public washrooms and a small cafe. From here you can also take the lift/elevator to Valletta Waterfront (for free!)--the fastest way down Valletta's huge fortified walls.

Bit of a walk to get to. Think we might of gone the long way around but when we got there the views of the grand harbour are spectacular and the 12 noon salute was a nice thing to see gardens were nice and we'll looked after.
