Description: The recently refurbished restaurant is situated in the heart of Valletta under the new parliament plaza. Today, under the leadership of Chef Steve Mamo they lead their dynamic team in providing dishes with a modern and classical touch with all flavours staying true to themselves. Salvino's offers an extensive list of Italian wine, featuring rare vintages and other sought after selections which complement Steve's carefully crafted dishes, in addition to an outstanding dessert menu.

Salvino's is a small quaint little place in Valletta, just below the President's Palace. Cosy atmosphere and the food was absolutely superb. It is beautifully presented and meets your taste buds in a great way. The octopus entree was really very good although my friend's fried calamari lacked the chorizo taste that should have had. The mains are equally wonderful although the price tag is rather high, unless you opt for pasta which is more reasonable and is really very tasty, especially because the dishes are well executed with wonderful sauces that bring them altogether. In particular, I also appreciated the nicely varied wine list and luckily, they are priced very well.
So, chapeau to the chef who is definitely doing a great job and who has had quite some thought behind the menu. A small suggestion would be if possible, slightly lowering the price of the mains (not pasta) would make this place even more special. Certainly worth going there!

I had an amazing experience at Salvinu's restaurant in Valletta Malta. The starter was so carefully created and tasted delicious. I had the seared tuna which was cooked to perfection with a pepper crust ... mmmm to die for and a trellace of what seemed to be an avocado puree.
Then for main I had a lovely fresh fish which was divine and melted in my mouth. I skipped dessert but my friends did not hold back and said that the sweets were inspiring !! Next time .....

I had the pasta with rizzi and vongole I believe. It was the most delicious pasta I have ever had in my life. The place is a lovely place. Every elegant. Good service. The bread they give you is hot and the menu is apparently ever changing. Definitely one to visit.

This is the kind of place that has been done up with simple but effective decor that gives it the comfortable, intimate atmosphere required and nothing more. Focus is on the food. And prepare to be wowed.

The chef can be seen putting his masterpieces together through the glass wall separating kitchen and dining area. Restaurant doesn't seat many, adding to that feeling that you are lucky to be there to sample this fiesta for the senses.

Everything I tasted was heavenly, and the presentation always gave you the impression that the chef was enjoying himself in that artist's workshop-come-kitchen. I had a pasta with prawns and zucchini for starters followed by a fillet which was properly rare (oh, how I do appreciate it when the chef gets that right!) on a bed of mashed potato (possibly with parsnip?) and asparagus with a mouthwatering sauce that tied it all together. My partner had fried calamari to commence, followed by a whopping tuna steak that was perfectly raw in the middle. To finish, I couldn't resist the chocolate fondant that was so exquisite I wanted to dive right into it and do the backstroke in its chocolate sauce.

Bravo!
