Description: The recently refurbished restaurant is situated in the heart of Valletta under the new parliament plaza. Today, under the leadership of Chef Steve Mamo they lead their dynamic team in providing dishes with a modern and classical touch with all flavours staying true to themselves. Salvino's offers an extensive list of Italian wine, featuring rare vintages and other sought after selections which complement Steve's carefully crafted dishes, in addition to an outstanding dessert menu.

To say the service was bad would be a lie, to say the atmosphere is bad is also stretching the truth, the say the food was something to remember is also an exaggeration. The food was cook right but not Wow, nothing was out of this world, the carbonara ... good but average, salmon....good but average, squid grilled just right but bland, the only dish of note was the swordfish and zucchini risotto. I do not go out to dine and be served dishes that are cooked by a home cook and not having the touch of a creative chef.

Excellent. I had fettuccine al salmone and my wife rib eye medium rare. Fettuccine were excellent with a lot of fresh salmon and the rib eye was so tender it would melt in your mouth. As a dessert we had a home made tiramisu which was the perfect complement to our dinner. The restaurant is run by three people: the owner, who also serves at the table, his wife as chef and a boy. Tip: better you book, the place is not big and many passbyers ask for a table. Thanks Sandro for the great experience you gave us!

The best place we are on Malta.
The food was delicious, everyone enjoyed, pasta cooked to perfection, sauces simple but so tasty and just the right portion size.
Great, friendly service. It's a small restaurant and a litre hidden away, worth hunting it down.

A few nights ago a waiter friend - Leonardo from Roma) recommended we try Salvino's - an Italian eatery in Archbishop Street - and we are glad we did. Sandro Pietrini welcomed us - we had a Campari Spritz as an aperitif and in the quiet ambience of an interior ristorante - not out on the street - my wife had a lasagne of mouth-watering deliciousness (I know because we always share our dishes) and a mixed green/tomato salad - while I had a fried calamari dish. Superb. We had wanted a local Maltese rosé but the cellar for that was bare. Sandro recommended a Rosé d'Anjou from the Family Bougrier of the Loir-et-Cher region which is the ancestral home region of my sister-in-law's mother. We noted other couples - locals as well as tourist travellers such as ourselves - and several family groups (all French-speaking). We have booked again for lunch to-morrow!
