Hotel was welcoming when we arrived and our room was wonderful; clean, well stocked mini bar, tea and coffee, bathroom requisites. During the week we were invited to discuss our experience of staying with the hotel management, which we did and we told them of a couple of disappointments, viz, would prefer fresh milk for tea in room and regular supply of soap. Both these things were rectified and a complimentary bottle of wine sent to our room. Our only criticism is that the hotel restaurants were disappointing. The brasserie didn't seem to be able to cook pasta and the main restaurant was expensive, however we were within 5 minutes walk of Valletta where there was an abundance of excellent restaurants. We would certainly return.

This is really a great hotel! Location is perfect! Breakfast is super! Restaurant in the evening a bit slow...very slow in fact. Staff seemed to be a bit stiff at the start, looked as they wished we were more sophisticated and rich:-)) LOL Money does not always show, friends;-)) But staff did melt a bit and was rather polite and nice after some days. Would love to go back! Love the consergier and the housecleaning. Guy frying eggs might also get a little more paid, so he can afford to smile at work? The garden and the pool is fantastic! The view from the pool fantastic! Pool snackbar is good, but with few alternatives. Free towels by the pool.

Have just come back from a week-end trip to Malta. My extended family and myself all stayed at this fantastic hotel. All our rooms were lovely, impeccable; spacious, with fantastic views and excellent facilities. Breakfast in the morning was sumptuous, delicious, and extensive. There was everything you could possibly imagine for breakfast, all served in style and elegance with efficient, descrete, polite service when required. The lounge and bar are simply fantastic, evoking memories and recreating the ambience of another era! We had organized a Golden Anniversary party at the hotel for friends and relatives in Malta and it was perfect; wonderful beyond expectation! The dining room looked fantastic, the food was delicious and most of all, the banqueting manager was so helpful, calm and, above all, professional. He really went out of his way to help in any way he possibly could and really appreciated everything that he did, from his help, advice and rapidity in setting up the room (balloons, decor etc.) to helping with photos and meals for the little ones!
The sales manager was so helpful with the organization of our event at the Phoenicia and I can't thank her enough. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, our parents were absolutely thrilled, and we received so many compliments!

We had such a lovely stay at the Phoenicia, I just had to write a review. Breakfast was excellent, even champagne. The gentleman playing the piano on Friday night was just amazing. Staff were attentive courteous and friendly. Room was delightful access to the lovley little buses of Malta to explore the Island was ideal. It was one of our best holidays thanks to the Hotel and its location. I cannot think anyone would have any complaints about this wonderful hotel.

Lovely Hotel with character and charm. We enjoyed our stay in a very convenient hotel for Valetta City and close to bus links for the whole island. The bedroom was clean, very comfortable and quiet. Good sleep and good breakfasts. The staff were friendly and service excellent. The gardens and pool are pleasant. We were very pleased, however , that we booked breakfast only, as our special Christmas Eve meal in the very expensive restaurant was pretty awful. We also had two meals in the Bistro which were poor. By all means try the hotel but do not pre book half or full board!

Best hotel we have stayed in this year in value for money terms. Whilst not 5 star in London terms it is a very good 4. The staff in particular ar so helpful and the breakfast faultless. Suspect would not be so good in a room on the bus station side of the hotel due yo noise. Particularly enjoyed the bars. Mean to charge so much for use of internet.

A grand hotel of the old school, perfectly located at the entrance gate to the walled city of Valletta and just by the main bus station. The rooms are mostly small, a little tired but sufficient, everything worked satisfactorily (the shower control was a bit stiff and needed two hands to operate). I believe rooms are being refurbished from the top down; we had a basic room on the second floor.

Breakfasts were excellent, wide choice with cooked food – also scrambled eggs were made freshly for you along with omelettes. We ate in the Pegasus Brasserie (don’t normally eat in the hotel restaurants) and had fantastic rib eye steak plus half litre of a tremendous Maltese blended wine (the wine was the cheapest at 9 euro!! Compare that to London.) There wasn’t much in the way of interesting restaurants in Valletta, loads a little further up the coast at Sliema and St Julians.
