“Good value hotel in Valletta”
Reviewed 28 March 2011

Valletta doesn't have a lot of mid-range hotels - this seems to the best one. It's a 5-10 minute walk from the bus station, on the flat, at the end of a side-street leading off the main shopping street. You can easily walk to all the tourist attractions in the city. It has a restaurant (which looked OK but I didn't try it), and there are other eating places nearby.

My room had been recently refurbished and was basic but absolutely fine - very clean, TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee tray. The breakfast room was rather busy but there was plenty of choice.

The reception staff were reasonably friendly, and I would certainly recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal via an internet booking site.

If coming from the airport, don't waste money on a taxi - get the number 8 bus from outside the terminal building. It's only 47 cents, and travelling in one of the ancient buses is a real experience.

Have just returned from our stay in Osborne Hotel Valetta and can not fault it. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and gave so much time to help us enjoy our stay. Our room was very new and clean and spacious with views across the roooftops of Valetta. It was in a very central location close to everything in Valetta.

Brilliant week here.Staff helpful,welcoming and available 24/7.
The hotel is on a quiet street only a 5 min walk to bus terminus( where you can get bus to almost anywhere on the island for E47). People have complained that none of the 60 bedrooms has a double bed.But I E-mailed the hotel with my request and Brian made sure we got it.
You must visit Mdena, the Hypogeum, the view from the Upper Barracca gardens, the co-cathedral of St John, the Captain Morgan harbour trip and walk the city walls.
There are many good restaurants within a10 min walk - but the evening meal in the hotel is excellent and a reasonable price.
The rooms are clean, bright and spotless-cleaned every day with new towels etc.The recent refubishment means that bathrooms ,decor and flooring are all pristine.
Breakfast is buffet style and something for everyone-including bacon, egg, sausage, beans. It is served from 7am until 10 am with the rush being between 8 and 9.
There is a lot a renovation work going on in Valletta -so you have to expect some noise, dust and scaffolding-but it will be worth it.I would recommend this hotel to anyone

My husband and I went to Malta last weekend and we stayed in this hotel.
The position is excellent (near to the city center and near to the bus station), the staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good.
Even if the bathroom was a little bit small, the room was comfortable and everything was very clean.
Besides, the price is reasonable for the service that they offer.
I recommend this hotel for everybody!

Felt very relaxed and welcomed at Osborne. Enjoyed stay welcoming staff, very eager to help. Polite waiters and chef at buffet style breakfaxt and diner. Spotless facilities not a spec of dust or an insect in sight which is rare indeed for Malta. Comfortable laminated wooden flooring. Recently refurbished rooms. Modern minimalist rooms with quality furnishings. Lots of piping hot water and shower. Daily maid service. rather plain exterior though communal areas are quite lavish. Pool area small but well appointed and felt very safe for a rooftop. Air con included in price was great for heating room up in February - room heated quickly. Food good. Waiters very welcoming. Drinks prices average. Wifi 3.50 Euros/hour in bar, 2.50 Euros/hour in rooms.

Just back rooms spotless clean staff were friendly, as far as we were aware though all rooms have twin beds not a double to be found. Breakfast was standard american style nothing special. Our room had half window, not a major problem overall. Location Location Location, you are close to everything. Buses are made but great value and very frequent, 47 cents per person per journey. Tip on arrival catch number 8 bus to Valetta for 47 cents its about a 35/40 minute trip. Taxi is a set fare approx. €15, however bus is so much more fun. In general its easy to find your way around Valletta and Malta.

Located a short stroll from the Central Bus Station and less than a block from the Fine Arts Museum this hotel is very well placed in Valletta. I arrived in the middle of a power-cut and the staff handled the situation very professionally. Since it was early I left my bag and checked in later that afternoon. Lift to all floors and room very clean and tidy – I had a room with balcony at the front of the hotel and overall enjoyed a comfortable two night stay.

The walls were quite thin however and I could hear my neighbours as well as the sound of plumbing intermittently. Internet WiFi costs 2.50 euro per hour (no daily/weekly rate available). Helpful and polite members of staff do much to off-set the few minor negatives there are here though…Overall it was a positive experience and I would recommend it to other travellers as I believe it is generally a decent option at a reasonable price.

I didn’t use any other hotel facilities apart from the bar/lounge and this was acceptable. I would probably stay here again if I came to Valletta and I hope it will be soon.
