For a fiver i got to see the archaeological artefacts that are important to Maltese. After we had visited the archaeology you go upstairs and to finish we followed the chipboard walkway up to another room which in itself had amazing fresco walls. In these rooms, more modern history is dealt with. It is well worth a visit if you like history.

Malta is full of wonderful history stretching back 6000 years and the museum helps you put all of it in context whilst astounding you with extra details.

I found not only were the exhibits themselves fascinating but it really improved my experiences when we visited the actual sights. Knowing a little bit more about how and why they've reached certain conclusions about ancient temples, traditional life and possible events really brought those visits to life.

The price is reasonable and I'd say it was perfectly sized. After an hour or so one is ready to leave rather than being swamped like one can be in a larger museum. Really worth a visit if you've come to Malta to see it's history and pre-history.

Fascinating artifacts from Malta's prehistoric sites are well displayed and explained. Phoenician artifacts and history in Malta are also handled well.

As it is plonked in the middle of Valetta it would take some effort to avoid attending this museum. I agree with previous reviewers that the temporary exhibit '100 Objects' is the most interesting part, it is rather amusing that its made out of chip board and placed in a room which I'm sure has plenty of beauty and history of its own. The rest of the exhibit is very dry and unless you find different types of pots fascinating you may find it a little boring too.

Really a must-visit to complete visits to the temples. Lots of interesting artifacts and finds from the temples. It's not a large museum, but well worth a visit.
