“Fab glass of wine”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

We only called in for a glass of wine before dinner not really knowing what to expect. They have a good selection of wines to choose from and the wine of the week was excellent especially at 3.50 euros a glass. Tried to go again another night but it was closed for some work being done.

“Gracious Hosts in Valletta”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

2 times here - both were excellent. 1st was coffee and pea and cheese cakes, 2nd was aperitifs and mini bites. Host was kind and offered us a little sampler plate. Great ambience, high quality presentation and good value. Thank you Charles Grech for adding to our great holiday month in Malta

“Excellent classy bar - perfect for Six Nations”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

This bar was a real find on Republic St in the heart of Valletta. Family-owned and run, with an interesting history, it is a great place for drinks and, unexpectedly, for watching Six Nations rugby in Valletta. Everyone had told us to forget rugby in football-mad Valletta, but they were wrong. This is the place for rugby-supporters to come to watch the Six Nations.

Not only that, St Paul processed down Republic St right outside while we were there on the Saturday evening (patron saint of Malta, it was his feast day the following Monday).

Wish we had discovered Charles Grech earlier in our visit.

“Cosy bar”
Reviewed 15 February 2014

This bar was one of our drop in for a drink places in Valletta, coffee, aperitif or digestive. Service was good and it was a place where you talk to the person sitting next to you on the banquette. It opens at 0830 but we were unable to get a sandwich or salumi platter one day for breakfast until 0930 but another day were offered food much earlier.

“Good ambience, great service”
Reviewed 7 February 2014 via mobile

We live in Valletta and we never came in because we thought it was just a bar. One day we walked in and what a nice surprise. We can either have a drink (cheap and they even complement you with snacks). On top of it you can eat salad, cheese board or sandwiches. All for a reasonable price. The stuff if friendly and make you feel welcomed. We'll definitely come back.
