“Wonderful place”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

This is a quite stunning property in a fantastic location, and with superb views of Valletta's Grand Harbour up on the roof. The rooms are well furnished, the beds are very comfortable and all the amenities are to a high standard.

The room service was a little intermittent and the washing machine was broken at the time of our visit in May 2014, but if you're looking to enjoy beautiful Valletta in style and comfort, this is the place for you. Also the concierge, Daniel, is hugely friendly and very helpful, so he'll make sure you enjoy your time in the capital and elsewhere on Malta as well.

For our first visit to Malta we chose Valletta to stay. We were undecided to stay in a local hotel or the Palazzo Prince D'Orange Suites. We chose the latter - it was the right choice! From the initial booking enquiry with JK to the easy, friendly transfer from/to the airport helped our holiday be stress free.
On entering the building we loved the beauty of the 17th century interior. We were staying in the Alexander suite and were impressed with the space, decor and furnishings. Some basic provisions were appreciated as was the nespresso machine! Housekeeping was first class and always served with a smile.
Our host Daniel was fantastic. Any queries were dealt with promptly, from getting extra supplies, advice on restaurants to getting the TV on. Any hotel would be lucky to have him. His passion and knowledge of local Maltese history was outstanding and shone through our many conversations. Thank you Daniel, you made out week!
Valletta itself is a beautiful city with lots to see and do and central for exploring Malta.
Thanks again JK and Daniel for a great week and we hope to stay here again sometime in vibrant Valletta.

Great "hotel" (really four apartments in what was once a four story home). The building is several hundred years old and beautiful. The views are great from several of the rooms or from the rooftop sitting area. It is one block from the main shopping/walking area of Valletta. Malta is a wonderful vacation spot.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask the manager to stock some food in the room so you can snack without having to search...

If you're going to stay in Valletta, I can't imagine a better place. An old building, beautifully updated with surprisingly modern conveniences, lots of room, and character, character, character. Plus everything you want to see if right around the corner (as is the only grocery store, a gourmet store at that). Friend stayed at the Grand Excelsior and, must say, it's lackluster in comparison (and located just outside and up the hill from the main drag). Daniel, our host, was very helpful, responsive and full of information, and his restaurant suggestions were spot on. Two of us stayed in the Beatrix suite and it was very roomy and comfortable, could easily have hosted four of us.

The old Palazzo has a direct view over the Grand Harbour, is straight in the middle of the charming city and close to all sights.

if you want to leave, enjoying breakfast on the balcony and watching cruise ships, boats & more arriving and going was hard to beat!

And its cheaper to stay then I expexted it to be

Excellent location in the capital city Valletta. Rooms are superb and the views of the grand harbour are something not to be missed. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxed holiday to enjoy Malta.

We stayed 2 nights at the Palazzo which dates back to 1628 and is located in the heart of Valetta. We were in the Henric suite at the ground level with a patio, it was very comfortable and spacious, including a full size kitchen, bedroom and sitting room in addition to the patio, but I would recommend if possible to pick another one of the suites as this one does not have a view at all and lacks light. Daniel, the housekeeper, was very friendly and gave us good advice. I would stay again at the Palazzo with no hesitation.

Room Tip: the higher the better
