“real italian food with warm welcome”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

be sure not to miss this little place for lunch! Roman boss welcomes you and keep smiling at you and la mamma works in the kitchen!
Am:biance of of nice Trattoria... all pastas (fresh) and main courses are price effective and tasty!
would have been perfect with wine by the glass and desserts' prices a bit lower (5E a glass and 5E for two scoops of (very) good ice cream), try the Tiramisu this one "should be " more expensive (still 5E) it is sooo good!
if you have difficulty to find it just ask for the Manoel Theatre it is right in front of it!

“5/5 stars, would give it 6 if I could!”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

We were staying in Valletta for 12 days and visited this place twice. Two of the three people in our group come from traditional Italian families who love to cook, eat, and gamble. We were not disappointed. Fausto was a perfect host, even though he laughed at my dislike of wine. His style and commitment to excellence is only trumped by his amazing food. Side note, the bruschetta is to die for! Both times we visited we ordered something different and ended up eating everything and then managing to eat some dessert. Six dishes in total plus dessert and a bottle of wine. The food was extremely reasonably priced for the portions and the 3 of us spent under 50 euros total, which included a bottle of wine as well. On our last visit, we sat there for the better part of 3 hours and Fausto brought over a bottle of Limoncello and gave us all a glass.

This restaurant is my idea of perfection. The food is simple, incredibly good, and filling. The host is personable and makes an effort to connect with every customer including remembering all of our names a week later when we went back. To top it all off, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Fausto, thank you again for the wonderful time and we look forward to our next trip!

“Push or Pull -- but go on in!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

There are 2 signs on the door of Zero Sei - "Keep Calm and Eat Carbonara" and "PULL and if that doesn't work PUSH and if that doesn't work we're closed." Both are the work of the charming and bemusing owner Fausto who sold his two restaurants in Rome and opened this delightful trattoria because he "loves Malta too much." Besides his humor, the food is excellent: fresh pastas, saltimbocca, many Roman dishes and one of the best Spaghetti Carbonara I have ever eaten - I certainly can't remember a better one. Plus, it had pork cheek! Homemade desserts are notable (tiramisu highly recommended), and the wine is Italian, the restaurant comfortable in 3 areas, pleasing art on the walls, and a happy clientele. Open six days a week - closed Mondays. Lunch and dinner. Easily located across from the Theatre Manoel. A MUST in Valletta.
