“Excellent Italian food and generous service”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

A delightful small Italian restaurant in the heart of Valletta. We were taken here by friends from Rome. We arrived after closing time and they kindly accommodated us and produced a wonderful late dinner. Spaghetti was perfect and home made pasta delicious. Run by people who love what they do and care about the food. We will return.

“Rome in a room”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Zero Sei owes its name to the calling code for Rome. I'll cut straight to the chase – the decor is lovely, the service is friendly and welcoming, with a sense of occasion to it, the food is splendid and the dessert is divine. The wine is a bit expensive, but the water, if I recall correctly, is on the cheaper side for restaurants of its ilk. A lovely place to which I shall hopefully return.

“An absolute gem”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

This restaurant is very special. The food and atmosphere makes one feel like they're in the middle of Rome - but a GOOD Rome - none of that tourist or poser stuff. The food is absolutely delicious (I've tried the Amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe pasta - and they were both top notch). The desserts (the Tiramisu!!) are amazing, and the whole experience (choosing wine, being allowed to try anything at our leisure) - perfection. I went for lunch with a couple of friends once and even though the restaurant was technically closed, he still allowed us to stay chatting for an extra 15 minutes over our coffees. It's ridiculously good value for money, and has become one of my favourite Valletta restaurants. Go now while it's still relatively cheap.

“Fantastic food, hospitable host, welcoming environment, great value”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Wow, what a great find. This is a small simple restaurant with limited menu, but everything, in particular the pasta and deserts are exceptional. The host is extremely friendly and amiable and is prepared to explain all the dishes on the menu. He will even let you try the wines before purchasing a bottle or glass - nice touch.

We liked this place so much we ate here twice during our short 6 day stay in Valletta, once for lunch and once for dinner. For lunch we had a pasta and a risotto and shared the tiramisu desert. Everything was simply fantastic. The pasta was some of the best I have ever had, and being an Italian food addict, that is saying something.

We invited three friends to join us for dinner. We must have had the complete menu, with a selection of starters, mains and desserts. Everything was superb, but I think the pastas are better than the mains - I had the pork cheek wrapped in bacon, it was nice, but not in the same league as the pasta. We also had two bottles of wine and three bottles of sparking water with two coffees. The entire dinner came to €150 which was extremely reasonable.

We all enjoyed our meals, and our friends who are locals will definitely be coming back. Would we go back to this simple Italian, yes, you bet and I can't wait.
