“Awesome!!!!”

Ate at Malata in July and the food was excellent. I had the tuna steak - t was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My kids enjoyed the salmon and pasta. Would love to eat at Malata again on my next visit to Malta. Highly recommend. Great ambiance in the square also.

“Lovely food, a warm atmosphere and good service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2011

The food was delicious. I had a shellfish medley of clams, mussels and prawn while my boyfriend had king prawns - both were yummy and they arrived promptly. We both went for the duck for main which again was cooked perfectly, the sauce was beautiful and the wine was lovely too.
I would go back.

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2011

The Malata provides excellent food, the kitchen works in an ambitious way. Wonderfully fresh fish, and meals one wouldn't normally expect like fresh (!) foie gras in apple and orange sauce: we loved it. A wine list which van hardly be topped. Service: efficient and very friendly. One of the evenings we spent there was the jazz night (Tuesday ), the music was certainly not disturbingly loud.

“A special place to eat in Vallettsa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2011

Malata is a delightful restaurant for lunch or dinner and much to be recommended. Be prepared to spend time and enjoy the atmosphere of the Palace Square with the dancing fountains. Our last night there was enhanced by a troupe of 13 Morris Dancers from Bathampton who entertained us with style although somewhat unexpectedly. The fish is always worth asking about and everything was beautifully cooked. Book a table outside.
The service is friendly but relaxed. Good value for money.

“A really wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2011

We had a good table outside the restaurant overlooking the square and the dancing fountains. The food was among the best we have eaten anywhere. My wife had a tureen that was clearly freshly made that day and delicious. My carpaccio was tender and tasty. Main courses, too, were superb. Sea bass with a delicate sauce surpassed praise as did a finely sauced rabbit. A plate of cheeses that were perfectly kept and served at the correct temperature was really superb. Absolutely delicious as was the freshly made and delightful creme brulee. Service attentive without being pushy, and the price was very reasonable. A memorable meal in a restaurant that we cannot recommend highly enough.
