Description: Malata, historic restaurant in Valletta, serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine prepared by our young chef. A classic is our "Cipollazza stew" or the scorpion fish cooked stew with capers and tomatoes. One-time atmosphere, with a youthful and gritty staff. A dynamic menu and true southern hospitality.

“Malata”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Ideally situated on Misrah San Gorg facing the President's Palace, this is good place to eat out on a warm day or in when less so. The food and the servce are good. The wine list is adequate except for a lack of interesting half bottles

“Here we are again!”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Have visited this restaurant many times over recent years, and have never been disappointed by the freshly served food! The service was excellent and it was no trouble for the staff to move tables around to accommodate guests in larger parties! The restaurant and it's owner featured in a book I had recently read Cats Brigade, so it was a delight to put the two experiences of dining and reading about the lovely island of Malta together.

“A jewel in Valetta”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

Excellent restaurant opposite the Palace of The Grand Master. Limited but excellent menu, reasonably priced, including the wines. The fountains play in the background and the atmosphere is unique. Worth a visit if you're in Valetta.

“Promised so much, but only average”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

This restaurant is in a lovely situation in the middle of Valletta, and the menu looked good. The staff were a little straight faced and whilst they were not rude, a smile at the start would have helped. As time went on they improved!
The food was o.k, nicely presented, but didn't inspire. Cost was as expected, and as a busy restaurant, maybe that was the problem.
