The hotel is out of the city but don't let that put you off !!! we stayed here for 3 nights with a 4 and 6 year old - there is a bus stop yards away from the hotel and that takes you directly to the city centre - rooms were fab and very very clean - staff were fantastic and could not do enough for us - we also went to a wildlife park outside of Luxembourg with the girls too - got the map from reception as they had lots of places to show on display and the staff were fab too at telling us places to go !!!!!

I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK AGAIN !!!!! but this time with my husband for a nice weekend break and no kids to try out a few of the bars and restaurants ----

Room Tip: we ended up on the third floor which seems to be where families go - but noise wise it was ok ..cant complain ....

This was the first stop on a nine country driving holiday across Europe. The hotel was very modern and very clean. The staff were extremely welcoming and excellent with our two sons aged 12 and 10. Our family room was just perfect, a good size with excellent facilities. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The quality was of a high standard too. Value for money was outstanding. Thank you Novotel Kirchberg.

Room Tip: Try out the free electric cars the hotel offer. Great fun !

The hotel is located in the middle of an area that looks like an office park. It is easy to locate from the motorway. It is surrounded by amazing high rise and architectural 'show-piece' offices/head offices. The European Union has some offices here, if you like that kind of thing. In fact the hotel has a board map of all the buildings - it's really something of a showcase for modern architecture. That said, that there is nothing else to do or see nearby apart from walk around an look at the offices.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. There are no places to eat nearby that are open on a Sunday. The hotel does have a restaurant, with a limited and very expensive menu. A burger was 20 euros, for example. Possibly the hotel caters for the corporate traveller, but for a family of four with a teenager and an 11 year old, this was not a family friendly price-tag. However, it is a ten minute drive into the city centre. There are many car-parks that get you within a three minute walk of all the main sights and places to eat.
The hotel has a very large reception area, which looks extremely modern and funky. It was billowing with tourists and coach parties. The reception staff were efficient and helpful.

It looked like there was a small area with children's building blocks in the reception area and as I walked to the lifts, there was a very small park but this may have part of another office.

We had a room on the third floor, for a family of four. It had two doubles (possibly queen sized) beds, and the room was of a standard size. The bathroom had a bath and shower and was well equipped with complimentary toiletries (shower caps, soaps and body-wash/shampoos) and there were plenty of towels. The complimentary tray had tea bags, coffee sachets and sugars, a kettle and two paper cups. We asked for two more cups and some milk cartons from reception, which they happily obliged us with (the cartons were evaporated milk).
The beds were very comfortable. There was air conditioning. The view from the room was awful - the back of another building and the offices opposite. The sound-proofing was good and overall the hotel was quiet despite the large numbers of coaches parked up.
We did not have the breakfast as it was around 20 euros each. Again, for a family, this was a hefty price (though we knew this in advance and had brought our own provisions). There was an advert for a 9 euro breakfast, which I saw poster for. It included any number of croissants and orange juice and possibly a coffee. We went to the town centre early - most of the large shops did not open until 10am, but there were lots of cafes open. There is a direct bus that goes from the hotel into town, though we did not take it as we found it easy to drive in. Parking in town was around 1.60 euros an hour. Parking at the hotel is right next to hotel itself, via a barrier and entry. It costs about 1.50 euros an hour during the day and I think it fell to 50 cents in the evening. You pay at the hotel. Wifi was free and we didn't have any problems connecting with it anywhere in the hotel.
Overall, the hotel performed a function for us - a place for an overnight stay en route back to the UK and the price through Booking.com was reasonable. Shame about breakfast cost.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't face a brick wall.
