“A charming house in a beautiful setting.”
Reviewed 7 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We loved this house, it was absolutely charming. The setting on the river was delightful, it was both peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed leisurly breakfasts on the terrace watching the wildlife and sumptuous suppers at nearby restaurants. The decor was both interesting and beautiful, full of quirky curios and original art. It felt more like a home than a holiday rental. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped, it was clean and beautifully kept. It had everything, bikes, kayaks, fishing rods, games, a ping pot table, a beautiful salt water pool and lots and lots of interesting books. Peter the caretaker was incredibly helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble; his tips for the local area were invaluable. I would happily recommend this little gem to anyone. If there was anything I could suggest to improve our stay it would probably be a few more cushions for the outside chairs, but that said, I think we all felt it was the perfect holiday getaway.

“A truly wonderful French retreat!”
Reviewed 5 November 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I was a last minute addition to the group but was so lucky to be included. The house was fully equipped from kitchen to playthings (ping pong table, kyaks, bikes) and the location was superb. Being in Flaujaques was quiet and quaint with easy access to great biking, sightseeing and wonderful food and wine. It was so much better than being in Provence which is so touristy and busy. We did not see another American the whole time we were there. I hope to return some day and will definitely recommend it to friends.

Liked best: The location on the river in such a cute small town.
Liked least: I only wish the weather had been a bit warmer to enjoy the pool more.

“Lovely home in wonderful setting on the river”
Reviewed 3 November 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We spent a week at this house and thoroughly enjoyed the easy access to many towns as well as the wine regions in Bordeaux. Our favorite time was in the afternoon, after getting back from a fabulous lunch somewhere and sitting out on the terrace by the river with a book, a glass of wine, and the cool breeze. The house is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Our only reason for not giving this an Excellent rating is that there were no extra towels other than the 2 per bathroom, no shower/bath soap or kleenex, no towels for the pool, and the kitchen was disorganized and not as utensil stocked as other houses we've stayed at. But we passed on feedback to the owner and she promised to look into these things for future renters. The house was a little hard to find but once we did, it was easy access in and out. The only inconvenience we had was that we had to lock up the entire house (all windows and doors had shutters) for insurance purposes so that always took some time. The washer and dryer were hard to figure out and dryer didn't seem to work well but there was an outside clothes line which was perfect. Our rental contact Jennifer was incredibly helpful the entire time, even meeting us in Paris for a glass of wine! Overall, we'd stay there again.

“Wonderfully comfortable Villa in stunning location”
Reviewed 23 August 2015 for a stay in June 2015

My husband and I stayed at Le Priolet for a week with another couple of friends. We arrived very late on the Saturday after ferry delays but we were warmly met by the English speaking caretaker who acquainted us with the property - and what a beautiful place it is! We were delighted with all aspects of the villa, it is light and spacious and very well equipped for dining in, or partaking in a BBQ in the delightful gardens. The property is right on the banks of the Dordogne river, and the spacious and well maintained gardens include a large swimming pool and terrace, as well as tables and chairs for dining 'Al Fresco'. There is a small shop in the village just five minutes walk away for fresh bread and basics and the nearby town, 10 mins drive away, has a good supermarket for all other requirements. A great location for exploring this lovely region and visiting the wine Chateaux and St Emilion, Le Priolet offers seclusion and tranquility whilst being accessible to the attractions of the area. We loved our stay.....
