“Looks nice forom the distance”
Reviewed 3 December 2012

This is a quite new hotel, with an attractive architecture at first glance. But the finishings are all very poor, it lacks quality in all the details. The room was spacious with a very big terrace and a great sea view. The hotel is litteraly on the beach. The food was very poor quality though, very disappointing. The coffee machine makes an horrible bitter coffee, you are better off with a "turkish coffee"! The place is a bit run down in the winter, with bits and pieces here and there, you can see they will wait for the summer season to fix some things up. Winter is a great season to visit this area though! If you look at the sea it is very beautiful but the area if full of unfinished houses and the beach is not always clean, which ruins your pleasure. The manager shouted on the phone at one of our friends, insulting her on the phone, and displayed a very greedy attitude: he sent someone to check on one of our friends to make sure he had checked out of his room and was not staying with someone else for free. Very unpleasant and this is the main reason for which we are not returning there.

We arrived on the 28th October 2012, this is not a hotel it caters for students, restaurant when open is dirty they don't even have menus, where do i start!!! lights to rooms do not work, pigeon droppings every where, staff are made up of a few students who cant speak English, rooms are dirty and dated, shower if you can call a shower is covered in black slime, we checked out after a day the only other people there were two french people who were horrified, who ever wrote the recent review must be a member of the owners family, this has to be the worst hotel on the planet, i've stayed in better hostels. We checked out and went to the Palm Beach in Famagusta for an extra 40 euro a night we got dinner, bed and breakfast and it was fantastic, also this hotel is in the middle of no where with no facilities at all the photos on trip advisor must be off 10 years ago the hotel looks nothing like it now, shame on this place for taking peoples money and ruining there holiday.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. First, the rooms are dirty and there is no enough hotel employee to keep the hotel clean. The bar near the pool opens at 11AM and if you want something to drink earlier you have to go and buy from market. I think the breakfast and dinner is for little chinese people because there is no way to get full from them. If you are not full and want to eat second porsion, (if you can find) the headwaiter starts to stare at you and tells his employers that you eat too much. Same headwaiter argues and shouts everyone in hotel including customers. If you are an "all included" customer, you payed for cheap drinks because there is no known brand drink in the bar. The sea is all rock but the pool is not bad.. To conclude, I don't suggest you to stay here (if you are not sadist and you want to ruin your holiday). There is much much better hotels in North Cyprus and this hotel is a black sheep.

This is my second stay at this place, I am not writting it as an hotel beacuse its not, last year I stayed there and there was some bad things there, poll and sea was good so I think this year probably would be better and hope that they fix their few negatives. But it went terrible,
Lets start from the begining of my second visit 19/21 August 2012, we book 2 betwen rooms with my family but when we went there they gave us rooms in two different flats and our room was dirty, small, climate was not working regularly and the motor was very loudy. my house bedrom is even bigger, I speak with the reception to change our room but they tall me that they are full, but as I see they wasnt full, they told that when they found a better room they will change the room but never turned me back.I think this place never repaired or painted after builded, there is broken parts dirt at every place, its like abandoned. anyway with all this we went to the poll after that to the dinner. the both night I had was there diner and breakfast was a joke, 1st night dinner: meat rice . 2nd night: chicken rice, nothing else. both day breakfast was only bread and cheese, before the restaurant was wirting free drink included in dinner and breakfast but no way their rough waitress every time we wanted a drink he told I'll charge you extra you want bigger cups I'll charge you more extra, a boy fight with the waitress to get a bottle of water for free because he paid all included for the place. Lets turn to the first night, we go up to the poll and sit with my family to play cards game because there was no other activity, there was a mini bar there and we want some drinks but they dont have, they told us they are giving the drinks for free there and because its free pepole are drinking too much so they only serve cheap stuff, the guy said u want someting go and get from the market. so we drink 4 no named beer and vodka, no one asked for money or for the room number, so we finish our game and went to our rooms. untill next day night nothing happend we went to dinner, while we was at dinner the barkeeper came in a rush to us and told that last night you didnt pay and run away, we was eating dinner in the restorant and we say we speak after diner he says no u must pay, so we left our dinner and start discussion he told its free for everyone thats why we serve cheap drinks to pepole. then he starts to shout you runaway without paying, everyone stop diner and start to watch us. there was just a step for a fight for a few noname drink and we sign a bill to pay. Next day morning the waitress was shouting to a turist that takes 3 plate of breakfast.this pepole ara getting money to serve not to shout to the turists. I am a Turkish cypriot and be shamed of this place we have in our beutifull country. There is tons of hotels that you can have a nice trip in this country. Do not waste your money to get angry in this place.

This person is also from South Cyprus who is geek which has not even been to our Hotel and does not like us Turkish Cypriots from the North of Cyprus to have any tourists But they have to understand that we Turkish Cypriots also have a right to live and work in Cyprus and what had happend in 1974 is not our foult they have to look at General Grivas and EOKA leder Samson who started all this in 1955 and ended as two parts of Cyprus.

We stayed here on a self catering basis for two weeks in May/June 2012. We made arrangements directly with Huseyin Disko who sorted everything perfectly, including transport to and from the airport (Larnaca).
The apartment was very spacious (2 bed) and comfortable with a balcony and gorgeous view of the sea. Although it lacked some basic self catering utensils (very limited pots and pans etc) it was cleaned daily to a very high standard and towels and sheets were also changed daily. Much better service than we have previously experienced when self catering.
The lift to the apartment was a bonus.
We only ate in the restaurant once for breakfast and the meal and service were good. Our only issue was that you need a car / taxi to get even the most basic shopping or to any tavernas and although we understand that the on site restaurant was available for a reasonable cost we didn't use it.The hotel would certainly be improved if self- caterers had access to at least the basics on site. However Huseyin phoned on our late night arrival to ask if we needed sandwiches etc.
We didn't use any of the activities advertised on the website and it was extremely quiet while we were there so we didn't see any of them in use. We got the impression that things weren't obvious but were there if you asked for them. Certainly whenever we asked for anything it was forthcoming with the exception of a replacement kettle which took a few requests!
The hotel is well placed for accessing the rest of N.Cyprus, has a lovely quiet beach and staff are attentive if you need them and happy to give you space if that's your preference.
We wanted a quiet relaxed holiday, no loud discos, pool music or hassle and that's what we got. Free air conditioning and WIfI were an added bonus. Some staff had limited or no English which made for some interesting conversations but we always managed to communicate successfully and this comes with being an unspoiled place.
Eating/drinking out and grocery shopping were more expensive than we had been led to believe, pretty much on a par with pub meals at home at around £7 per main course.
The Sky Venus Beach Hotel is the ideal base for a trip to N.Cyprus.
We certainly hope to return.

We had a great holiday thanks to Huseyin and his staff, we arrived late evening and were shown to our apartment by very helpful receptionist. The location of this hotel is very central to everywhere we wanted to be. Inside the apartment was immaculate with everything you would need for self catering, although we ate out everyday, very close to some great resturaunts and Petek for delicious cakes and savories! we found it to be very comfortable, maids changed our towels and made beds every day! We had amazing views from the balcony and the pool area was lovely. We really cant find any fault with this hotel and would highly recommend friends and family to stay here. We will definately be back next year!

Room Tip: Our room overlook the beach, the trees and the stables, very peaceful, we were on 5th floor room 501...
