We have been staying at High Life for 2 weeks in August for the past seven years. We cannot think of going anywhere else. The family run hotel is our little paradise.Very friendly people and nothing is too much trouble. The pool is spotlessly clean as are the rooms. If you want a quiet, chill out break then look no further.Unfortunatly we are unable to visit this year but God willing we will be back next year

Three of us stayed at the High Life for ten days in early April. The place is clean, the pool sparkles, the cats are abundant and the staff are friendly.

Typical Turkish breakfast of eggs, toast, coffee or tea, yogourt, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, cheeses and sometimes halloumi (yummy!). Eating it outside watching the ships come into the new harbour not far away or seeing the southern coast of Turkey a couple of times made it taste even better.

We had dinner at the High Life several times and it was okay, but I was just as happy to take a short 15 minute walk to the Alesta Kebab (turn right on the main road towards Kyrenia) for really good and authentic Turkish Cypriot food.

Breakfast was included but we found the price of food and drink a bit pricey. But it was convenient.

We would definitely go back to this hotel if we returned to this part of Cyprus.

From the initial warm welcome by the hotel owner and his family until the time we left two weeks later we had a wonderful time. Comfortable room, beautiful sea view, excellent pool kept in spotless condition. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was delightful, simple delicious lunches made to order. Evening meals in the restaurant or on the terrace were most enjoyable. Personal attention from the chef and cheerful staff cleaning the room who were a pleasure to deal with.
Parts of Northern Cyprus are pretty scruffy and urban Kyrenia is no exception. However the High Life with its garden was a haven of peace at all times of the day.
I'm sure you could manage without a car with public transport fairly cheap and available. We hired a car from the hotel at a competitive rate and the car was fine. It's quite possible that you would just want to stay in the grounds of the hotel and enjoy it!

After enduring a flight with the airline from hell, Atlas Jet. It was a pleasant surprise when we encountered High Life Hotel's hospitality. The hotel delivered just what we expected, clean comfortable rooms, pleasant gardens, a nice pool and terrace. What was a surprise was the level of customer care afforded to us by everyone. Well done everyone at High Life. Some reviews have complained about the cats, but we encountered no problems, if you like cats (we do) then great, but even if you don't I can't see that they are a problem, they beg occasionally at the table, but that's it. The area surrounding the hotel is not picture postcard material and the beach is not a pleasant one. Keep to the hotel and you will have no complaints. Resturants are close by but a lack of footpaths makes walking difficult in the dark and slightly nerve racking with cars roaring past on the main road. Hire a car for at least part of your stay I think is the best advice. I agree with a previous review that this hotel is not a cheap alternative to the larger hotels, everything is a bit pricey. Low life - No, A little gem - not quite, but if you need a comfortable, friendly small hotel then you need look no further.

The High Life is an unpretentious, quiet hotel in a fabulous location. The rooms are large - much larger than an average Mediterranean hotel room and ours had a galleried bedroom upstairs. Excellent views of the sea and mountains. Towels are changed every day and bedlinen every other day. The whole place is spotlessly clean.

Swimming pool was a couple of steps away from our room - also kept very clean.

The terrace where meals are taken is set above the sea and is very pleasant. The quality of the food at dinner is very good, although the menu doesn't have a lot of choice and there is an occasional longish wait for the main course although with good company and a bottle of Turkish wine it's not that bad.

I'm not a cat lover and although there are15, they are not obtrusive, seeming to spend most of their day asleep in the sun so they didn't bother us at all.

This is a family run hotel and everyone is helpful. Our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until 2.30am but one of the daughters was there to greet us with a smile to show us to our room. We had help with sightseeing directions as well.

It's very quiet at night as the hotel is some away from the road and the bar is a long way from the rooms, althought it's not the sort of place where people stay up late and that suited us fine.

Because of the location and the ambience, its all incredibly relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for two weeks in September and it was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Everywhere was spotless , my room no 32 was fantastic. We had views of the harbour and the mountains. The hotel is small and very peacefull. The pool fabulous. We ate in the hotel a few times and the meals and the setting were just perfect.
Thankyou to the staff and management. For us it was so nice I have booked for Sepember 2011 . Kyrenia itself is really nice and close by.

High Life hotel is a super B&B. Rooms very well appointed, immaculately clean, with quality towels and plenty of hot water. Swimming pool very well kept, as is the whole sun lounger area round the pool. Everu room has a balcony, some with better views than others. First floor room have best view, but the sleeping area, up a flight of internal stairs does not benefit particularly well from the air conditioning.

The breakfast terrace is lovely, overlooking the sea, but the menu lacks imagination, and service can be slow with not always getting what you have asked for.

Dinner menu very restricted, unimaginative and expensive in relation to the other restuarants in comfortable walking distance from the hotel. Would be disappointed had we booked half board

Car hire from the hotel good, reaonably priced with full insurance included in the price.

Would we stay there again? Certainly. But we would bring our own tea bags and coffeet 75p for a tea bag from the hotel is nonsense.

Peter and Sue.
