We have stayed at the Pia Bella a few times now. Travelled with Direct Traveller on all occasions. Good service all round, transfers and reps very efficient.

The last time we stayed was in the winter months. The hotel was not that busy, but there were still tourists here.

The price was good as we also had a free half board promotion.

Overall this is a great base to stay for your kyrenia holiday.

The staff is as friendly as ever, and we now know most of them. Service is good, with a personal touch, and of good standards.

There is a nice long bar area outside, and a outdoor courtyard area between the two pools. This is a good spot to relax, and watch the world go by.

The two pools give plenty of room for sunbathing, and you don’t really feel like you are in the town.

Opt for a superior or deluxe room. The latter being the better. The rooms have been newly created, with good furnishings. In the winter however the rooms could get a bit nippy, but when we put the air-conditioning unit on it was fine. Al be it the air was a bit dry, as it’s an electric heater.

Food at the hotel is good, a large buffet or al al carte options. All served in the main restaurant, with entertainment on some nights.

The hotel is geared towards couples and adults, so you wont really find too many kids running around. Being close to the town centre means its ideal spot for getting around town, with plenty of parking also in the area.

Tip: ask for a brandy sour cocktail.. nice!

Room Tip: ask for a superior or deluxe room, make sure you dont get a standard room. you will know this by the fact its facing the road side. all other roooms face away from the road.

My wife and I spent a very enjoyable week at this hotel.
Upon arrival we we provided with an evenig meal even though it was out of restaurant hours. All the staff made a great effort to be amusing and friendly which can go a long way when you are on holiday. They did have a kind of dance routine which was a bit shambolic but you couldnt fault them for trying..
We were provided with a room with view of car park and mountains which actually was great as we got the sun most of the day and was handy for the restaurant etc.
The food was of a very good standard with plety of variety. There was a live omlette station every morning.
The hotel is well located for visiting places of interest.
We wern't given the hard sell for trips and usually made our own arrangements. We were recommended the shared cab service to go from hotel to Nicosia which was only 5 Turkish Lire each, each way.
Ther is an odd mixture of very up market looking shops and restaurants around which are surprisingly cheap.
We quite enjoyed having piano music while we were having our meals. One evening we were very lucky as the top singer in Turkey had been booked to play at a Casino but there wasnt enough space so she ended up performing at our hotel. She had about 4 bodyguards with her wherever she went. She was great but unfortunately we couldnt understand the words.
I swam in the pool and it wasnt too cold .No one else did because they were waiting for someone else to go first.
Sadly the jacuzzi wasnt operational as I had looked forward to using it.
We went to a nearby Abbey up the mountain a bit.St Hilarion Castle,Walled city of Famagusta , ancient city of Solamis, Kyrenia castle and shipwreck museum. All were worth visiting but were disappointed with the nearby amphitheatre which wasnt what we had expected.
We liked North Cyprus because it hasnt sold itself out to Macdonalds etc and still has plenty of charm.
Be careful of the pavements as they are all over the place. You almost have to watch every step.
If you want to find a romantic restaurant that no one knows about try Peanuts nearby.
There was a lovely log fire in the television room and I dont think many people knew about it so we had it all to ourselves.
The service was exceptionaly good. One day the phone didnt work and within minute there was someone round sorting it out.
Many guests are repeat visitors and I think we will become the same.
If you like gambling there are more than enough Casinos around although you get a funny look from the people in there as though they know you don't belong there.

Room Tip: Ask for superior downgrade room with car park view.2nd floor .

I have stayed at several hotels in Kyrenia but the Pia Bella is the only one I have used more than once. This was my 3rd stay. I only stay there off season when there are only a dozen or so guests - mainly British couples 50+ so it is lovely and quiet .The rooms are spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom and a plug for the bath on request.
The restaurant offers standard Cypriot food with lots of choice.

Has a geriatric anglo demographic (only one family during UK half-term break). 15 minute walk from Old Port (tourist & retail centre) of Girne set in a nondescript suburban area. Room was allegedly a superior upgrade but had an outlook over the parking lot & the adjacent apartment blocks midden tip. Bed very comfortable but floor dirty with previous occupant's matted hair.
Food is bland (for the target demographic) and doesn't feature local cuisine but offers a variety of choice.
The pool areas and gardens are pleasant but bar service is slow & unreliable. Prices are cheap and good value.

This was our second visit and several things have improved here. The new spacing of the tables in the dining room so much better than the long rows and we loved the pianist in the evenings. The bar area has been extended and now so much better too.The food is good value and the omelettes freshly cooked in the mornings delicious. We had particularly hot weather for February and spent time round the pool with waiters coming regularly to take drinks orders. We enjoyed the company of the hotel cats and having a feeding area is such a good idea. Did miss the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast but it turned up some mornings although now with a small charge. The price of drinks is no more than outside the hotel and we had bottled water milk and tea/coffee replenished in our room which was kept spotlessly clean. Will be back.
