We arrived late evening to a warm welcome. Our suite room was very hot, the air con unit in the bedroom would not remain open a piece of cardboard helped. The sitting room with sofas, tv etc was unbearable as the only air con in the suite is in the bedroom. Shame it was a waste of money. The staff seemed helpful and more so after tips. Dining room was like a 70's Spanish hotel nevertheless it was clean and the breakfast adequate. The evening meal was more suitable to a rest home and did not appeal to us. The hotel Itself felt like being on a seniors outing which is good if you were on your own and liked to mix in.
In the stairwells it was very hot. The room had a key card which you had to remove upon leaving the room, this meant that no air con was on until you arrived back. With not efficient air con it took ages for the bedroom to cool down and still the sitting room remained unbearably hot.
The fridge which did keep on in the bedroom had a sign saying no food or drink to be brought into the hotel.
The bar snacks were fine.
The best thing about the hotel was the lovely pool which should have been peaceful except there is building taking place behind - thank goodness it was spasmodic and at the weekend it was quiet.
At the rear of the hotel there is a small shop selling everything a holiday maker would need. Turn right out of the hotel and at the end of the road is a taxi rank, bus stops and lots of general shops, cafes, fruit shops and an exchange bureau.
A taxi ride from the hotel into town is 10 (the rate of exchange locally was 3.6 average)
We ate out every evening. We ate in the harbour club which was poor, the six brothers the steak was perfect. Niazi's was lovely for the mezze (which they special in) beware of the cats. outside. Other places were OK can't even remember the names. We had a super proper coffee and cake in the Rocks hotel would recommend.
We took a boat trip which was not very good. We were told a free drink on arrival and if the other boats stop in one place they would go past and visit later during the trip (all lies). We were unfortunate as the boat had a large French and Russian Group on board. The children ran everywhere and dive bombed into the sea from all parts of the ship jumping on anyone. The captain could not have cared less.On our first stop It was clearly an arrangement with other operators had been made for parascending boats, jet skis banana boats etc for people to enjoy themselves along with headbanging music Then the party boat moored up alongside complete with load music and everyone enjoyed a foam party. The music was all load and brash. The third stop was in front of a building site with rubble thrown all over the rocks into the sea.
The scenery was horrible, and nothing at all like the tranquil trips we had experienced so many times in Turkey.
The food was fine - which was all I could say about the whole day once you are on board there is nothing you can do.
