Some background first. My wife and I will not see 60 again, but we are young at heart. We are also well travelled and have stayed in some top quality hotels.

Firstly the hotel inside . It is simply fantastic. Top quality everything. We stayed in a studio apartment (slighly larger than a standard room with a sofa and sea view balcony ). Lovely room with high insulation from noise inside and outside the room. Only criticism is that there is no hair conditioner withe suppied toileteries which is odd for a 5 star hotel. The restaurants are elegant and ladies can where their best clothes and jewellery. The indoor pool ,sauna and steam facilities (free) are good and the gym has state of the art equipment. We did not use the spa.

At the back of the hotel is a huge pool with a separate, nice kids area with a slide. The separate adults only pool is a delight, with a book exchange facility (good idea). The attached Colors cafe has ice cream to die for and is very popular in the evenings as well.
Their is a lower grass terrace below the main pool with sun beds. Very quiet with its own bar. Then below that there is the private beach and watersports club. We cannot imagine that there would ever be too many people for the sun beds, as there are just so many.

Now to the not so good bits. If you walk out of the front of the hotel you are into a world of tacky mediocrity. Johny's pub is opposite the hotel and the Wembley pub with outdoor pool tables is about 100 metres to the left past Pizza Hut. Having said that , if you continue walking left you will come to some acceptable restaurants where we ate. Limassol is a modest port city with little to say about it.

And then there are the Russians. If we set to one side the Pepsi Russian offsite at the hotel (200 reps), then the hotel still had a high proportion of Russians. This should not be a problem, but they (like the Americans) are just so loud, wanting all to hear them.

Buuuuuuuuuut, if you do not mind a hotel holiday and can afford the high prices (3.75 euros for a small plastic cup of coca cola) then this is the place to go. We will certainly go again.

Sadly, I couldn't recommend either this hotel or the resort. If you are expecting cute villages and pretty scenery as on other Greek Islands you will be disappointed. There are many unfinished building projects and lots of empty shops and restaurants. Little entertainment exists either in or outside of the hotel. The poor singer often sang to an empty bar. There are some good restaurants nearby which were also a lot less expensive though it would generally mean you were eating by the main road.
The good points about the hotel are - easy to find and good location if you want to explore Cyprus, very comfy and huge sized beds, a/c works well, staff very friendly and tried to help (though Reception could be a bit snooty), some nice little touches like chilled fruit snacks by the pool, internet in the atrium sometimes worked for free, everywhere was very clean, Vivaldi restaurant food and service were excellent though over-priced and because it was almost empty there was no atmosphere. The towels were plentiful and a good size and the toiletries were quite good (but why no hair conditioner?).
Not so good – we had a sea-view room. You can see the sea but not the beach (unless you are on a high floor). If you have any mobility issues at all then the walk to the beach is not easy. Although we didn’t have the traffic noise from the main road as others have mentioned we did have noise from loud music and the building sites next door and across the road. We also heard lots of motor bikes roaring down the beach road.
The toilet facilities in the hotel by the designer shops are laughable! I’ve travelled the world and never before seen a “Ladies” facility where you cannot go in and shut the door behind you without a struggle (and no, I’m not over-weight). You have to squeeze to the side of the toilet bowl in order to shut the door behind you. There was plenty space outside to make the rooms bigger, nice toiletries and expensive fittings but the design is unusable. The interior designer should be shot!
The room – they only supply one box of tissue which you had to move around. This is not 5 Star and even 3 Star hotels would have tissues in the bathroom as well as in the bedroom. Forget meals in your room as the cost made it prohibitive and the balconies on the 1st floor are too small anyway.
The shower – we had a wet room though unfortunately this usually meant the whole bathroom got wet as the seal for the shower doors was unpredictable. The temperature of the shower almost spoilt our week on its own. The shower head is above you so you can’t escape as it changes from too hot to too cold and back again (whilst nobody else is running any water in the room). You may expect this from a small hotel or B&B but this is not acceptable for a supposed 5-Star hotel.
The prices are extortionate – this view was universally held and we heard nobody say anything other than this. The introduction of a Happy Hour was the only thing that kept many of us in the hotel at all. The Mojitos were lovely but don’t ask for a Margarita. Several people simply popped to the supermarket where you could buy a bottle of spirits for the price of one round of drinks for 2!! The buffet and oriental restaurants have delusions of grandeur. The staff worked hard and were very pleasant but the food was fairly average and not worth the price charged.

Everybody should realise the Garden Suites actually back onto quite a noisy public road, so no privacy there, they are also very close to a building site, which starts very early every morning, ontop of which, you will probably be wide awake anyway because of the constant humming from the ventilation system.

Dear Guest
Thakyou for taking the time to post your comments on Tripadvisor. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience you experienced whilst staying in our Garden Studios during your recent stay. We only wish that you had made your comments known during your stay our team would certainly have taken measures to overcome any problems. The Garden Studios are indeed Quadruple Glazed so whilst in the room you should not hear any noise. We will shortly be making the Garden and River Pool more private by erecting higher decorative fencing along the back perimeter. The building renovation taking place opposite the Garden pool area is not part of the hotel and unfortunately we have no control over it but it will thankfully be finished in a week or so.
Thankyou and best regards.

It is an ok hotel. Would not rate as a 5 Star Hotel. Requested a sea view room but had a room with a partial seaview and a BUILDING SITE IN ACTION! The hotel did accommodate my request to move me to another room. Requested a quite room. This is definitely not a quite hotel. Even with a seaview you can hear the music from downstairs, blocking out the noise of the waves with the base so loud! Inland the rooms are noisy, right next to a very busy road. The only good thing was the Spa treatments but very expensive but excellent and the area around by the pool is good. Very expensive to stay. A small bottle of water by the pool over 3 euros. Coffee 5 euros. This hotel does not live up to the REAL Four Seasons Hotels in the world. Sadly.

We got married at the Four Seasons hotel Sept 2009. The hotel compelled me to join trip advisor and write a review !

The hotel prides itself on customer service and it's quite right too the staff are outstanding.

I have stayed at many excellent hotels but the service at the Four Seasons is second to none. It is very expensive but we knew this when we booked, this is a hotel of 5 star prices but you actually receive 5 star quality 24 hrs!

We planned our wedding at the Four Seasons with the help of the on site co-ordinator, most of the planning and decisions were made by email from home, so not much to do when we arrived, the hotel team took care of everything. The ceremony at the on site chapel was lovely, the pictures outstanding; taken within the lovely grounds of the hotel and beachfront. Our guests were blown away with the amazing setting, attentive staff, beautiful meal and cocktails on the specially reserved terrace, 7 months on and they are still talking about it !

Top Tip - not cheap but upgrading to a sea view room is a must the road to the front of the hotel is not very nice, our sea view room had stunning panoramic views and peacful sound of the waves.

The hotel restraunts are amazing don't miss the Greek Salad starter at the Greek Restaurant.

This was our second 2 week stay at the Four Seasons and i have to say it did not get off to the best of starts. We had planned to get married here and had made plans well in advance, when we arrived the receptionist had no record of of wedding. This hotel usually has great attention to detail. We had not booked a sea view room due to our budget and the road noise on the other side of the hotel kept us awake, this appears to have got worse in the last few years. I feel they could have done a little more for us in way of a discount on a sea view room considering the money we had spent on the wedding. We got sea view rooms for the last 2 nights and they were perfect. However i feel we were treated as a budget guest and some reception staff look down on you. The other staff were fantastic and set a very high standard in the level of service and remain friendly but not intrusive. We were on a half board basis and it was expensive but very, very good food. We ate in the Vivaldi one night and i have to say it was the best food i have ever tasted! They go over the top on the charge for drinks etc and therefore only encourage the guests to go elsewhere on evenings. Great holiday for our 2 kids and the wedding was perfect and we have no regrets in choosing this location and we will come back for our anniversary. Due to the problems with the volcanic ash crisis we were transfered to the Atlantic Miramare for nights 15/16 and 17 and this helped us appreciate what a fanatanstic place the Four Seasons is. I hope they are not too proud to address a couple of issues and this help them achieve perfection! Try it, especially for your wedding, but make sure you have plenty of cash to upgrade to a sea view room.

My family stayed here for our second time in April 2010. The staff were fantastic and loved our little girls, when our 2 year old dropped a stone on her foot they gave her free ice cream to cheer her up. They were always friendly and gave the impression they really cared for their customers. Our children loved staying there and we our 7 year burst into tears when we had to check out as she didn't want to go home. Our stay was extended due to volcanic ash and again the staff couldn't have been more helpful in what was a difficult time.
We had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be going back!
