This hotel was so nice. I had read the reviews before going and we were a bit cautious. But the place exceeded my expectations. We had a very large family room. The food was varied and tasty. The phoenecian restaurant is worth a visit. The drinks in all-inclusive are a good standard. The staff are very friendly and caring. The kids-club was enjoyed by my 4 and 5 year old. They made us a complimentary birthday cake on my daughters birthday too!! The private beach was great for the kids and felt very safe and secure. We met some lovely guests and definitely have some great memories. Well done st Raphael!

This is our second visit to the St Raphael, we absolutely loved it. We had a fantastic family holiday. The St Raphael resort for us was the complete package. Relaxing, good food, top quality accommodation and amazing entertainment; the staff could not do enough for us. With special thanks to the entertainment team Val, Alex and Sky. We'll definitely be back!!!

This is our 2nd time now staying at St Raphael. We just love it!!!
Everything about it was perfect, all the staff are friendly, especially Sasha, the restaurant supervisor. However I do think Sasha would make a fantastic manager!!!!
The food is outstanding! There are always different types of delicious food.
Looking forward to coming back!!

After careful consideration we chose this hotel for our wedding. Booked with Thomas Cook (DO NOT EVER USE THOMAS COOK!!!!!). Won't bore with the details of how awful they are as a company, So bad they did not have a meal for our 2 year old daughter on the flight, even though we paid for one.
Arrived at the hotel well after midnight and were unable to get any food or water, 5* all inclusive hotel!!!!!!!!
Bad bits
The main buffet restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch is awful. It was overcrowded, they pack eveyone together and you end up sitting with other guests, not 5* at all. Guests had to queue for food, it was like a school canteen, I have never experienced this even at 4* hotels. Mostly Russian guests who we found to be very rude, they would often have their plates overflowing with food, which is completely unnecessary. The quality of the food was o.k., but we've had much better elsewhere. We often struggled for food for our 2 year old daughter, I would say they don't cater for children, they have the same pizza, chips and spaghetti bolognaise every day.
The evening buffet is served in a much nicer room with a bit more space, although the buffet area is still awful, I can honestly say I have never witnessed people having to queue for food in a 5* hotel. The russian guests did not seem to mind this and will often push in front of you, standing on your foot!!!

Good Bits
We eventually ended up with a fantastic room, there are a lot of cats in the hotel and my husband is allergic, Our first room had a patio which led to the small pool and the cats would come into the balcony and spray, lovely!!!

There is an al la carte lebonese restaurant which was excellent. The service and food in here was first class.

Our wedding went absolutely perfectly and we couldn't have wished for better, we got married at the beach gazebo and 5pm and the weather was fantastic.

They have a childrens play area indoors and out. My daughter enjoyed playing here, although other guests would allow their children to run amok and not supervise them, I would often get into arguments because I did not want my daughter to get hurt.

I would not return to this hotel because of the other guests, I found that the majority of russian guests had absolutely no manners at all. The class of guests here are not what you would expect for 5*. Considering we paid over £3000 for 2 adults and 1 2 year old, I would say there is much better out there for your money.

Dear Reviewer,
We thank you for your time and would like to take this opportunity to answer all your points raised.
We have 24 hour room service and a fully serviced and stocked mini-bar, and thus food and drinks are readily accessible around the clock. Some of our restaurants do get busy at peak times but this is a small window of time (about 30 minutes) that is easily avoidable and we have a choice of 5 restaurants within our Ultra All Inclusive board package. Our food has always received very favorably reviews and our chefs are happy to assist with any particular requirements. There is a kid's corner within the buffet of the Palladium and the lunch buffet at Splash restaurant by the executive wing swimming pool was specifically designed for families with small children in mind for which we have had rave reviews. You will be pleased to know however, that we have plans in place to expand the buffet area in the Octagon restaurant within the coming months.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience in the Phoenician restaurant.
Cats are an island wide part of Cyprus, so much so that there is even a myth about how they arrived on the island for the benefit of the local people. We do our best not to encourage the cat population to grow within the hotel grounds but do not believe in cruelty to animals, so like all hotels, areas, houses and neighborhoods in Cyprus, we do have our share of cats.
We have a varied client mix within our hotel, however should anyone wish to be advised when more of any particular culture travel to Cyprus, they are welcome to contact us before booking.
We are indeed very sorry that you feel you would not return due to other cultures and some difference. Should you wish to return, please do not hesitate to let us know. Kind regards,

From start to finish everything was just perfect, our expectations were totally exceeded. A great value holiday. We went all inclusive. So, Rooms - we stayed in the exec family room which was excellent, there was a neat sliding door which seperated our two children (aged 8 and 3) from thier bunk beds. Clean and spacious. Food was varied, excellent choice throughout and friendly and attentive staff. Nightlife was terrific for the kids and their was a warm and freindly atmosphere at the hotel. The kids club was situated next to the pool and was really flexible with signing the kids in and out as we pleased. Most of all, the staff at the kids club were out of this world. Alex, Sky, Val, Amy and team were just fantastic at keeping the kids happy and also at leading the adult activities in the day. Took my PADI open water dive cert at the beach next to the hotel and was so impressed by the range of activities available here too. The drinks were decent quality. The people we met were like minded and there really was not alot to complain about. Would not hesitate in returning and trust me I am a harsh critic normally having stayed at some of the leading hotels in the world. Great work San Raphael.

The St Raphael is located on a great stretch of beach with sweeping lawns. Our rooms were excellent with lovely sea views. The grounds are spacious and the 2 pools never felt overcrowded. Apart from the many dining areas the beach informal bar/restaurant The Seashell is just right for snacks or a meal - also open in the evening. For more formal dining the Sailors Rest is right next to the marina & more expensive but has great food and views of the bay.
The Serenity Spa was an indulgence but well worth it - we loved it everyone was so friendly and we would definitely go again.

We spend a week at the St Raphael in early July and once again had a really great time. As you all have, we looked at the reviews before we travelled and took note of the comments particularly about the Russian guests. On arrival, this was our second stay, we spoke to the staff at Reception who informed us that the main Russian holidays are from late May until the end of June, if this is a big deal for you then you know when not to come in future. I can assure you that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and met some really good friends and be in no doubt that the British were very much in the majority during our stay. Of course we saw some Russians, but in the main they were polite enough. Check in was straight forward and our room in the marina block was excellent, even the view of the car park was not a problem.

I do agree that the conduct of the staff here is truly exceptional. The staff do ensure that the customer comes first and remember that for many of them English is not their first language, yet they all speak clearly and correctly. I feel that I must mention some members of staff who I felt offered exception service throughout our stay. Sasha from the management team is a real gentleman and appeared everywhere and at all hours to make sure that we were comfortable. Val and Alex from the tireless entertainments and sporting team who never ran out of energy and kept us all on our toes. The staff in the Captain's Bar were all very good and worked hard and long into the night to keep us happy, and our unknown but outstanding cleaning lady who made up our room superbly every day.

We never had a problem getting a sun bed and the swimming pool and adjoining bar/cafe were both run very professionally. Yes the restaurants can get busy at breakfast, lunch and dinner but please remember that you are staying in a large hotel with 600-700 others, so be patient, it will be worth it. The food was usually very good and varied but I think on some evenings it could look a little more interesting rather than the occasional mass produced meal. If I was to be a little critical it would involve the hotel TV service, which for British visits, offers a poor choice. I mentioned in my Review last year that you do not come on holiday to watch TV but british TV is readily available on the island and BBC World is simply not goot enough. It would be nice to have Sky News or BBC News available especially first thing in the morning or when getting changed for dinner in the evening. The main entertainment for adults revolves around the Captain's Bar which is a terrific place to socialise with friends. However, I would suggest an alternative, maybe something along the lines of a cinema evening now and then where guests could relax (outside) watch a movie and enjoy a drink, this is just a thought.

Overall, we had a great time and the points I have just made would make the experience, in my opinion, much better. We met some really good friends - Big Dave, Stacey, Chloe, Dave, Mandy and Jess who all entered into the spirit of the holiday. Thank you for your great company - anyone seen a plumber!!!!
